N2  - This study aims to examine the causal relationship between investment in the
information and communication technology (ICT) sector, openness, namely trade
openness and financial openness and economic growth with the flow of foreign direct
investment that occurred in Indonesia from 1998 to 2017. Data was analyzed using
Granger Causality Analysis method. The results of the analysis of relationship
between variabel shown that investment in ICT sector can increase the amount of FDI
in Indonesia and not vice versa, which means that the better condition of ICT
infrastructure, the higher flow of FDI. One-way causality is also shown by the flow of
FDI towards conditions of trade openness, financial openness to FDI and the role of
GDP growth that drives the growth of FDI.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti hubungan kausalitas antara investasi pada
sektor teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (ICT), keterbukaan ekonomi yaitu
keterbukaan perdagangan dan keterbukaan keuangan serta pertumbuhan ekonomi
dengan arus investasi asing langsung yang terjadi di Indonesia pada tahun 1998
sampai dengan tahun 2017. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode Analisis Kausalitas
Granger. Hasil analisis hubungan kauasalitas menyatakan bahwa investasi di sektor
ICT dapat meningkatkan jumlah FDI di Indonesia dan tidak berlaku sebaliknya, yang
artinya bahwa semakin baik kondisi infrastruktur ICT maka semakin tinggi arus FDI.
Hubungan kausalitas satu arah juga ditunjukan oleh arus FDI terhadap kondisi
keterbukaan perdagangan, keterbukaan keuangan terhadap FDI serta peran dari GDP
yang mendorong tumbuhnya FDI.
