Variabel yang digunakan untuk mengukur profitabilitas adalah Return On Asset (ROA), Board Diversity diukur dengan proporsi dewan komisaris dan direksi wanita, latar belakang pendidikan dewan komisaris dan direksi, usia dewan komisaris dan direksi, dan ukuran perusahaan diukur dengan kapitalisasi pasar, sedangan variabel kontrol pertumbuhan penjualan diukur dengan persentase pertumbuhan penjualan. Sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 80 perusahaan dengan menggunakan metode stratified random sampling. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda dan uji hipotesis serta uji asumsi klasik yang meliputi uji normalitas, uji multikolinearitas, uji autokorelasi, dan uji heteroskedastisitas dengan tingkat signifikansi alpha 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ukuran perusahaan (DSIZE) dan usia dewan komisaris dan direksi (AGEDIR) memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap profitabilitas, sedangkan dewan komisaris dan direksi wanita, latar belakang pendidikan, usia dewan komisaris, dan pertumbuhan penjualan tidak berpengaruh terhadap profitabilitas. Kata kunci : Corporate Governance, Gender, Usia, Latar Belakang Pendidikan Dewan, Profitabilitas This study aims to determine the effect of the proportion of female board of commissioners, proportion of female board of directors, company size, educational background of board of commissioners and board of directors, age of board of commissioners, board of directors and sales growth on profitability of small cap and large cap companies for period 2013-2017 . The variables used to measure profitability are Return On Assets (ROA). Board Diversity is measured by the proportion of board of commissioners and directors of women, the educational background of the board of directors and directors, the age of the board of commissioners and directors, and company size measured by market capitalization, while control variables sales growth is measured by the percentage of sales growth. The sample in the study were 80 companies using the stratified random sampling method. The analysis technique are used is multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing and classic assumption tests which include normality test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test, and heteroscedasticity test with alpha significance level of 5%. The results showed that firm size (DSIZE) and the age of the board of commissioners and directors (AGEDIR) had a positive influence on profitability, while the board of commissioners and directors of women, educational background, age of the board of commissioners, and sales growth did not affect profitability.
