Tujuan\r\npenelitian ini untuk merepresentasikan konsep cantik yang ditampilkan dalam\r\nwebtoon I am Gangnam Beauty. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini\r\nyaitu analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan\r\npembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam webtoon I am Gangnam Beauty,\r\nrepresentasi konsep perempuan cantik sesuai dan sejalan dengan budaya\r\nmasyarakat Korea tentang bagaimana perempuan dapat dikatakan cantik. Pada\r\nwebtoon I am Gangnam Beauty menampilkan konsep kecantikan yang sesuai\r\ndengan mitos kecantikan yang diyakini oleh masyarakat, yaitu seorang perempuan\r\nhanya dinilai berdasarkan penampilan dan kecantikannya saja. Perempuan yang\r\ntidak sesuai dengan kriteria cantik tersebut dianggap perempuan yang tidak\r\nmenarik dan akan selalu dituntut oleh lingkungannya terlebih lagi kaum laki-laki\r\nuntuk dapat berubah dan berusaha mengikuti konsep ideal tersebut. Selain itu,\r\nlingkungan sosial juga masih mempermasalahkan kondisi fisik seorang\r\nperempuan yang tidak sesuai dengan standar cantik yang ada.\r\nKata kunci: Analisis Semiotika, Cantik, Webtoon\r\nDepictions of beautiful women according to the media are those who have a slim\r\nbody, white skin, and black hair. Basically, the representation of beautiful women\r\npresented by the media is only focused on physical appearance, while the meaning\r\nof beautiful is broader than that. Currently, the representation of beautiful women\r\ncan be seen through in comics, one of them in webtoon titled I am Gangnam\r\nBeauty. The purpose of this study is to represent the beautiful concept displayed\r\nin the webtoon I am Gangnam Beauty. The method of this research is Roland\r\nBarthes's semiotic analysis. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can\r\nbe concluded that in the webtoon I am Gangnam Beauty, the representation of the\r\nconcept of beautiful women is in accordance and in line with the culture of\r\nKorean society about how women can be said to be beautiful. In the webtoon I am\r\nGangnam Beauty showcases the concept of beauty in accordance with the myth of\r\nbeauty that is believed by the public, namely a woman is only judged based on her\r\nappearance and beauty. Women who do not meet the criteria of beauty are\r\nconsidered unattractive women and will always be demanded by their\r\nenvironment especially men to be able to change and try to follow the ideal\r\nconcept.
