"Perkembangan teknologi komposit semakin berkembang pesat. Namun pada \r\numumnya hal tersebut di dominasi pengembangan komposit sintetik dibandingkan \r\nkomposit natural. Hal ini dikarenakan komposit natural memiliki sifat mekanik \r\ncenderung lebih rendah, oleh karena itu perlu adanya upaya peningkatan kualitas \r\npada komposit natural. Maka dari itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan \r\nkekuatan mekanik komposit natural dengan menggabungkan serat baggase dan \r\nkaca (Hybrid) pada satu campuran komposit untuk menghasilkan sifat mekanik \r\nyang lebih baik dibandingkan komposit non hybrid. \r\nPenelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Komposit, Universitas Lampung. \r\nPembuatan komposit menggunakan metode hands lay up dengan matrik poliester. \r\nVariasi pertama dengan komposisi 70% matrik poliester, 15% partikel baggase \r\n15% serat kaca, variasi yang kedua dengan 80% matrik poliester, 10% paritkel\r\nbaggase, 10% serat kaca dan variasi terakhir terdiri dari 90% matrik poliester ,5% partikel baggase, 5% serat kaca.dilakukan pengujian tarik berstandar ASTM D�638.\r\nHasil dari penelitian terbaik terdapat pada variasi 70:15:15 dengan nilai σu = \r\n74.266 MPa, ε = 0.016 dan E = 3.601 GPa. kenaikan fraksi volume serat kaca dan \r\npartikel baggase meningkatkan nilai modulus elastis dan kekuatan tarik.\r\nKemudian bedasarkan pengamatan menggunakan metode Scanning Electron \r\nMicroscope ikatan yang dimiliki serat baggase terhadap matrik lebih baik \r\ndibandingkan dengan serat kaca.\r\nKata Kunci : Komposit Hybrid, E-Glass, Baggase, Sifat Mekanik, ASTM-D638, \r\nScanning Electron Microscope \r\n\r\n\r\nThe development of composite technology was increasingly advanced. But in \r\ngeneral this is dominated by the development of synthetic composites compared \r\nto natural composites. This is because natural comoposite have lower mechanical \r\nproperties, therefore there is a need to improve the quality of natural composites. \r\nTherefore, this study aims to improve the mechanical strength of natural \r\ncomposites by combining baggase and glass fibers in one composite mixture to\r\nproduce better mechanical properties than non hybrid composites.\r\nThis research was conducted in Composite Laboratory University of Lampung.\r\nHands lay up method was used to fabricated the composite. The first variation \r\nwith a composition of 70% polyester,15% baggase particle, 15% glass fiber, the \r\nsecond variation with 80% polyester matrix,10% baggase particle, 10% glass \r\nfiber and the final variation consists of 90% polyester matrix, 5% baggase \r\nparticle, 5% glass fiber. The tensile test was carried out according to ASTM-D638 \r\nstandard.\r\nThe best result can be found in variations of 70:15:15 with a value of σu = 74.266 \r\nMPa, ε = 0.016 and E = 3.601 GPa. The modulus elastic and tensile strength of \r\nhybrid composite were increase with fiberglass and bagasse particle volume \r\nfraction.
