N2  - Telah dilakukan penelitian pembuatan tes kit dan validasi metode untuk analisis 
kimia formaldehida pada makanan. Deteksi formaldehida dilakukan secara 
kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan pereaksi Schiff yang relatif murah dan mudah. 
Metode pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara membuat larutan standar
formaldehida konsentrasi 2,5 ppm, 5 ppm, 7,5 ppm, 10 ppm, dan 12,5 ppm. Hasil 
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, validasi metode menggunakan spektrofotometri 
UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 560 nm memberikan persamaan regresi yakni 
A= 0,0878Cx?0,0474. Metode yang digunakan menghasilkan presisi %RSD 
0,124% dan 0,07%, batas deteksi (LoD)= 0,01 mg/L dan batas kuantitas (LoQ)=
0,034 mg/L. Aplikasi pada sampel tahu dan ikan asin menunjukkan positif 
terhadap formaldehida, dengan kadar 92,6 ppm untuk tahu dan 162,6 ppm untuk 
ikan asin. Hasil ini melebihi ambang batas yang telah ditetapkan oleh Dinas Balai 
POM.

Research on making kit test validating methods for chemical analysis of 
formaldehyde in food. The detection of formaldehyde is carried out quantitatively 
and qualitatively with Schiff reagent a reatively cheap and easy. This research 
method is carried with making a formaldehyde standard solution of 2.5 ppm, 5 
ppm, 7.5 ppm, 10 ppm, and 12.5 ppm. The results showed that the validation 
method used UV-Vis spectrophotometry with wavelength of 560 nm and 
regression A= 0.0878Cx?0.0474. The method used produces yield precision 
%RSD 0.124% and 0.07%, limit of detection (LoD)= 0.01 mg/L and limit of 
strength (LoQ)= 0.034 mg/L. Applications in tofu and salted fish samples showed 
positive formaldehyde with contents 92.6 ppm for tofu and 162.6 ppm for salted 
fish. The result exceeds the threshold set by the BPOM.
