%A 1517011015 WINDI RATNASARI %T PENGARUH KONSENTRASI ZAT ANTI KOROSI OLIGOMER 4-VINIL PIRIDIN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN IRON OXYDIZING BACTERIA (IOB) %X Korosi atau pengkaratan adalah peristiwa kerusakan atau penurunan kualitas suatu logam yang disebabkan oleh reaksi dengan lingkungannya. Korosi dapat dicegah dengan menggunakan inhibitor atau zat anti korosi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi zat anti korosi oligomer 4-vinil piridin terhadap pertumbuhan iron oxydizing bacteria (IOB), yang diduga efektif menghambat pertumbuhan mikroba pengoksidasi besi (Thiobacillus ferrooxidans). Tahap penelitian meliputi pembuatan kurva pertumbuhan dari bakteri Thiobacillus ferrooxidans dan penentuan nilai pH optimum dari pertumbuhan bakteri tersebut. Oligomer 4-vinil piridin yang berperan sebagai inhibitor korosi dilakukan sintesis hingga diperoleh hasil sintesis oligomer 4-vinil piridin. Selanjutnya Thiobacillus ferrooxidans dan hasil sintesis oligomer 4-vinil piridin dihitung nilai lethal concentration (LC50). Berdasarkan kurva pertumbuhan diperoleh waktu setengah dari fase eksponensial yaitu pada hari ke-7 dan nilai pH optimum diperoleh pada pH 2,5. Hasil sintesis oligomer 4-vinil piridin diperoleh cairan kental berwarna jingga. Nilai LC50 pada oligomer 4-vinil piridin diperoleh pada konsentrasi 0,14 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa senyawa oligomer 4- vinil piridin mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Thiobacillus ferrooxidans. Corrosion or rusting is the process of damage or deterioration of the quality of a metal caused by reaction with its environment. Corrosion can be prevented by using inhibitors or anti corrosion substances. This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of anti-corrosion resistant substance 4-vinyl pyridine oligomeric against the growth of iron oxydizing bacteria (IOB), which is suspected to effectively inhibit microbial growth of iron oxidization (Thiobacillus ferrooxidans). The research phase includes the creation of growth curves from Thiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria and the optimum pH value determination of the bacteria growth. 4-vinyl pyridine oligomeric which acts as a corrosion inhibitor carried out synthesis until obtained by the synthesis of 4-vinyl pyridine oligomeric. Furthermore, Thiobacillus ferrooxidans and the synthesis results of 4- vinyl pyridine oligomeric computed value of lethal concentration (LC50). Based on the growth curve obtained half time from the exponential phase is on the 7th day and the optimum pH value is obtained at pH 2.5. Results of the synthesis of 4-vinyl pyridine oligomers is obtained orange coloured viscous fluid. The LC50 value in 4-vinyl pyridine oligomers is obtained at a concentration of 0.14 ppm. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the 4-vinyl pyridine oligomeric compounds are able to inhibit the growth of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria.
