Thirty students of XI Science 2 at SMA N 9 Bandar Lampung in the year 2018/2019 were selected as the sample of this research. This research used one group pre-test and post-test design. The instruments of the research in collecting the data were speaking tests and questionnaire. The results showed that the students’ speaking achievement after being taught through authentic materials improved significantly. The highest score is 87, average score is 79.68 and the lowest score is 71.5. The significant level of data was lower than alpha value (0.00 < 0.05) and showed that the research hypothesis was accepted. On the other hand, the result of students’ responses to questionnaire showed that 22 (73.03%) students stated that they liked and felt satisfied with the teaching-learning process by using authentic materials. Based on the result above, it could be concluded that teaching using authentic materials could improve students’ speaking achievement in procedure texts and made the students satisfied with the teaching-learning process.
