MENUJU PELABUHAN BAKAUHENI

abstract: Angkutan umum penumpang rute Rajabasa – Bakauheni yang digunakan saat ini 
dirasa kurang nyaman. Pola pergerakan orang di ruas jalan di Provinsi Lampung 
pun tidak berimbang dengan pertumbuhan penanganan jalannya. Rencana 
pembangunan kereta api menuju pelabuhan Bakauheni akan mengurangi 
pembebanan pada jalan raya dan memberikan pemilihan moda baru kepada 
masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pengguna 
kendaraan dalam pemilihan moda transportasi dan untuk memperoleh suatu model 
yang dapat menggambarkan pilihan kondisi pelayanan kereta api rencana.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan membagikan kuisiner kepada penumpang 
kapal ferry yang melakukan perjalanan dari/ke Pelabuhan Bakauheni – Merak 
dengan cara pengambilan sampel data menggunakan teknik simple random 
sampling.
Faktor karakteristik pengguna kendaraan yang mempengaruhi pemilihan moda 
transportasi yaitu tingkat pendidikan, jenis pekerjaan, jumlah pendapatan dan 
pengeluaran biaya transportasi per bulan. Dan proporsi pengguna moda eksisting 
yang akan beralih menggunakan moda kereta api rencana terbesar yaitu pelaku 
perjalanan pengguna sepeda motor yang menyukai tarif kereta api rencana 
Rp 15.000,00 sebesar 49,14%.

Public transportation, that operates on the route Rajabasa - Bakauheni nowday, 
has been felt less comfortable. While the pattern of movement of people on roads 
in Lampung Province, that is not balanced with the growth of road handling, the 
plan to construct a railway line to the port of Bakauheni will reduce road loading 
and provide a more competitive new mode for people. This study aims to 
determine the characteristics of vehicle users in the selection of transportation 
modes and to obtain a model that can describe the choice of plan railroad service 
conditions.
This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to ferry passengers 
who traveled from / to the Port of Bakauheni - Merak with simple random 
sampling techniques.
The factors of the characteristics of vehicle users that influence the choice of 
transportation modes are the level of education, type of work, total income and 
expenditure of transportation costs per month. The biggest proportion of existing 
mode users who will switch to using the planned train mode are the motorcycle 
users who like the planned train’s fare of Rp.15,000.00 (49.14%).
