"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh temperatur artificial aging\r\nterhadap sifat kekerasan dan struktur mikro Al-2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan\r\nspesimen berupa Aluminium seri 2024 yang diberi perlakuan panas dengan suhu\r\n4500C selama 15 menit, kemudian di quenching dengan media pendingin berupa\r\nair. Selanjutnya diberi perlakuan panas kembali dengan variasi temeratur yakni\r\n150\r\n0C, 170\r\n0C dan 190\r\n\r\n0C dengan holding time selama 5 jam. Kemudian spesimen\r\n\r\ndidinginkan secara lambat dengan suhu ruangan.\r\nHasil uji komposisi kimia menggunakan Spectromax menunjukan persentase Al\r\nsebesar 90,6% dan Cu sebesar 5,90%. Hasil uji kekerasan menggunakan Rockwell\r\nHardness Tester didapatkan nilai kekerasan tanpa perlakuan panas yang memiliki\r\nnilai kekerasan sebesar 60,2 (HRB), nilai kekerasan setelah diquenching sebesar\r\n54,1 (HRB). Nilai kekerasan tertinggi terdapat pada pemanasan dengan variasi\r\ntemperatur pada 1900C dengan nilai kekerasan sebesar 74,4 (HRB) dimana nilai\r\nkekerasan pada temperatur 1900C mengalami peningkatan sebesar 23,59% dari\r\nnilai kekerasan bahan tanpa perlakuan panas. Pengujian struktur mikro didapatkan\r\nhasil material Al-Cu setelah proses artificial aging pada temperatur 1900 C\r\nmemiliki fase θ dengan jumlah yang lebih banyak dan batas butir Al-Cu cenderung\r\nlebih rapat dan teratur. Hal ini berarti bahwa pada bahan yang mendapat perlakuan\r\nartificial aging terdapat endapan presipitat atau terbentuknya fasa kedua yang\r\nmenjadi penyebab bahan tersebut lebih keras dan lebih baik sifat mekanisnya.\r\n\r\nKata Kunnci: aluminium 2024, artificial aging, nilai kekerasan dan struktur mikro. This study aims to determine the effect of artificial aging temperature on the\r\nhardness and microstructure of Al-2024. This study used a specimen in the form of\r\nAluminum 2024 series which was heat treated with a temperature of 4500C for 15\r\nminutes, then quenched with a cooling medium in the form of water. Subsequently,\r\nthey were reheated with variations in temperature, namely 1500C, 1700C and\r\n1900C with a holding time of 5 hours. Then the specimen is slowly cooled to room\r\ntemperature.\r\n\r\nThe results of the chemical composition test using Spectromax showed the\r\npercentage of Al was 90.6% and Cu was 5.90%. The results of the hardness test\r\nusing the Rockwell Hardness Tester obtained a hardness value without heat\r\ntreatment which has a hardness value of 60.2 (HRB), a hardness value after\r\nquenching of 54.1 (HRB). The highest hardness value is found in heating with\r\ntemperature variations at 1900C with a hardness value of 74.4 (HRB) where the\r\nhardness value at 1900C has an increase of 23.59% from the hardness value of the\r\nmaterial without heat treatment. Microstructure testing showed that the Al-Cu\r\nmaterial after the artificial aging process at a temperature of 1900 C had a higher\r\nnumber of phases and the Al-Cu grain boundaries tended to be more dense and\r\nregular. This means that the material that has been treated with artificial aging has\r\nprecipitated deposits or the formation of a second phase which causes the material\r\nto be harder and have better mechanical properties."^^ .
