Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu ekstraksi silika dari ampas tebu sebagai bahan dasar sintesis zeolit-MOR dan sebagai pembanding disintesis zeolit-MOR berbasis silika LUDOX, selanjutnya zeolit hasil sintesis dilakukan ion exchange, impregnasi, dan uji aktivitas katalitik. Karakterisasi silika menggunakan XRD, XRF, dan FT-IR. Zeolit-MOR (SCBA) dan (LUDOX) disintesis dengan menggunakan metode Steam Assisted Crystallization (SAC) pada suhu 170 °C selama 120 jam. Karakterisasi XRD zeolit berbasis silika SCBA memiliki kecocokan dengan difraktogram ZSM-5 standar dan zeolit berbasis silika LUDOX memiliki kecocokan dengan difraktogram zeolit-MOR dan ZSM-5. Karakterisasi SEM memperlihatkan zeolit berbasis silika SCBA dan LUDOX memiliki morfologi berbentuk heksagonal dan batang. Rasio Si/Al zeolit berbasis silika SCBA dan silika LUDOX sebesar 14,88 dan 7,84 didapat melalui karakterisasi XRF. Zeolit berbasis silika SCBA dan LUDOX berhasil diimpregnasi menggunakan logam Ni dengan kandungan logam Ni masing-masing sebesar 0,034 % dan 0,346 % diperoleh melalui karakterisasi XRF. Hasil uji katalitik menunjukkan kondisi reaksi optimum berada pada suhu 160°C selama 4 jam dengan rasio katalis/substrat 1:1 menggunakan katalis zeolit berbasis silika LUDOX hasil impregnasi memberikan konsentrasi gula tertinggi sebesar 215,45 mg/L dan katalis zeolit berbasis silika SCBA hasil impregnasi menghasilkan konsentrasi gula pereduksi sebesar 114,59 mg/L. In this research, the synthesis, characterization and test of the catalytic activity of zeolite Ni/H-MOR based on bagasse silica was carried out in the hydrolysis reaction of cassava peel starch into glucose. The steps of the research carried out were the extraction of silica from sugarcane bagasse as the basic material for the synthesis of zeolite-MOR and as a comparison the synthesis of zeolite-MOR based on LUDOX silica, ion exchange, impregnation, and catalytic activity tests were carried out. Silica characterization using XRD, XRF, and FT-IR. Zeolite-MOR (SCBA) and (LUDOX) were synthesized using the Steam Assisted Crystallization (SAC) method at temperature of 170 °C for 120 hours. The XRD characterization of zeolite based SCBA silica was in agreement with the standard ZSM-5 diffractogram and zeolite based LUDOX silica was in agreement with the zeolite-MOR and ZSM-5 diffractograms. SEM characterization showed that zeolites based silica SCBA and LUDOX have hexagonal and rod-shaped morphology. The ratio of Si/Al zeolite based on SCBA silica and LUDOX silica of 14.88 and 7.84 was obtained through XRF characterization. Zeolite based silica SCBA and LUDOX were successfully impregnated using Ni metal with Ni metal content of 0.034 % and 0.346 %, respectively, obtained through XRF characterization. The results of the catalytic test showed that the optimum reaction conditions were at 160°C for 4 hours with a catalyst/substrate ratio of 1:215.45 mg/L and impregnated zeolite based SCBA silica catalyst resulted in a reducing sugar concentration of 114.59 mg/L.
