Data yang digunakan adalah data panel Provinsi-provinsi di  Sumatera periode 2011-2019. Jenis penelitiannya adalah deskriptif  kuantitatif, dengan Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  bahwa variabel Rata-rata Lama Sekolah (RLS) dan Angka Harapan Hidup  (AHH) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan secara statistik terhadap  pertumbuhan ekonomi di Pulau Sumatera. Sementara Tingkat Pengangguran  Terbuka (TPT) berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan secara statistik terhadap  pertumbuhan ekonomi di Pulau Sumatera. Meningkatnya RLS dan AHH di  Pulau Suamatera terbukti akan meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan  meningkatkan modal manusia secara khusus meningkatkan RLS dan AHH di  masing-masing Provinsi. Hal ini sekaligus mengindikasikan, akan terjadi  perubahan kesejahteraan di Pulau Sumatera selama periode 2011-2019.    Kata kunci: angka harapan hidup, modal manusia, pertumbuhan ekonomi,  rata-rata lama sekolah, tingkat pengguran terbuka    ABSTRACT    THE EFFECT OF HUMAN CAPITAL AND UNEMPLOYMENT  RATE ON ECONOMIC GROWTH ON THE ISLAND OF SUMATRA    By    ANDREAS RAMANDA PUTRA    This study aims to analyze the effect of human capital and the open  unemployment rate on economic growth on the island of Sumatra. The data  used is panel data of the provinces in Sumatra for the period 2011-2019. This  type of research is descriptive quantitative, with Fixed Effect Model (FEM).  The results showed that the variables of Average Length of School (RLS) and  Life Expectancy (AHH) had a positive and statistically significant effect on  economic growth on the island of Sumatra. Meanwhile, the Open  Unemployment Rate (TPT) has a negative and statistically significant effect  on economic growth on the island of Sumatra. Increasing RLS and AHH in  Sumatra Island is proven to increase economic growth by increasing human  capital, specifically increasing RLS and AHH in each province. This also  indicates that there will be changes in welfare on the island of Sumatra during  the 2011-2019 period.
