%A 1518011105 DEA ALNISRINA %T PENGARUH AKTIVITAS ANTIMIKROBA EKSTRAK KULIT BATANG BAKAU (Bruguiera gymnorrhiza) TERHADAP Shigella sp. %X Latar Belakang: Shigella dysentriae merupakan salah satu bakteri penyebab diare yang mudah ditularkan melaui personal hygine yang kurang baik. Ekstrak kulit batang bakau sebagai salah satu alternatif sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui aktivitas antimikroba ekstrak kulit batang bakau (Bruguiera gymnorrhizha) terhadap Shigella dysentriae. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorik dengan metode kirbybauer disk pada Mueller Hinton Agar. Kulit batang bakau di dapat dari hutan mangrove labuhan maringgai, Lampung Timur dan pengekstrakan dilakaukan di Laboratorium Kimia Organik MIPA Universitas Lampung dengan teknik maserasi etanol 96%. Ekstrak kulit batang bakau dibagi menjadi beberapa konsentrasi yaitu 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. Kontrol negatif berupa aquades dan kontrol positif berupa ekstrak bawang putih (Allium sativum)dan seratnya. Data yang diambil berupa ukuran zona hambat disekitar disk dan diukur dengan jangka sorong. Lalu data diuji dengan One way ANNOVA. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan diameter zona hambat yang terbentuk dari ekstrak kulit batang bakau 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. Secara berurutan yaitu 5,525 mm, 6,05 mm, 6,75 mm, dan 7,6825 mm. Pada kelompok kontrol negatif sebesar 0,5 mm dan kontrol positif sebesar 21 mm. Kesimpulan: Terdapat aktivitas antimikroba ekstrak kulit batang bakau (Bruguiera gymnorrhizha) terhadap Shigella dysentriae. Kata kunci: Bruguiera gymnorrhizha, bakau, Shigella dysentriae Background: Shigella dysentriae is a diarrhea-causing bacteria that is easily transmitted through poor personal hygiene. Mangrove bark extract can be an alternative as an antibacterial. Purpose: To determine the antimicrobial activity of mangrove bark extract (Bruguiera gymnorrhiza) against Shigella dysentriae. Methods: This research is a laboratory experimental study using the Kirbybauer disk method on Mueller Hinton Agar. Mangrove bark was obtained from mangrove forests in Labuhan Maringgai, East Lampung and the extraction is done at the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Lampung using 96% ethanol maceration technique. Mangrove stem bark extract is divided into several concentrations, namely 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The negative control was distilled water and the positive control was garlic extract (Allium sativum) and its fiber. The data taken is in the form of the diameter of the inhibition zone around the disk and measured by the calipers. Then the data was tested by One way ANNOVA. Result: The results showed that the inhibition zone diameter formed from mangrove stem bark extracts was 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. In sequence, they are 5,525 mm, 6.05 mm, 6.75 mm, and 7.6825 mm. In the negative control group it was 0,5 mm and the positive control group was 21 mm. Conclusion: There is antimicrobial activity of mangrove stem bark extract (Bruguiera gymnorrhiza) against Shigella dysentriae.
