Hormon pertumbuhan rekombinan kerapu kertang (r-ElGH) diberikan pada larva, dan diberikan kembali (booster) calon induk gabus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh perlakuan terhadap pertumbuhan berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, hubungan panjang berat dan pertumbuhan panjang mutlak serta seksul dimorfisme berdasarkan karakteristik morfometrik dan meristik. Pe- nelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Budidaya Perikanan, Jurusan Perikanan dan Kelautan Universitas Lampung. Perlakuan disusun menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga ulangan, terdiri atas perlakuan diberikan pada stadia larva saja (non booster) yaitu tanpa kejut salinitas dan tanpa perlakuan hor- mon (A), perlakuan dengan kejut salinitas dan r-ElGH dosis 0 mg/l, (B), 2 mg/l (C), dan 20 mg/l (D) sedangkan perlakuan booster r-ElGH diujikan dengan dosis 3 mg/kg pakan (E), BSA 0,1 g/kg (F), 10 mg/kg pakan (G), dan 30 mg/kg pakan (H). Data pertumbuhan dianalisis ragam dan uji lanjut Duncan pada taraf 5%, se- dangkan data seksual dimorfisme dianalisis diskriminan. Hasil penelitian menun- jukkan bahwa booster r-ElGH berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan dimorfisme seksual namun tidak berpe- ngaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan panjang mutlak. Gabus pada penelitian ini memiliki pola pertumbuhan alometrik positif (b = 3,39). Laju pertumbuhan me- ningkat secara signifikan sebesar 0,37% pada P3 dengan dosis 3 mg/kg pakan. Karakter morfometrik yang mampu membedakan dimorfisme seksual yaitu nilai jarak antara jarak ujung mulut hingga pangkal sirip dubur pada perlakuan F dan H, sedangkan karakter meristik yang mampu membedakan dimorfisme seksual yaitu nilai jumlah jari-jari sirip dada (kanan) pada perlakuan E. The development of snakehead cultivation is still experiencing problems with as- pects of slow growth and limited information regarding aspects of sexual dimor- phism. The recombinant giant grouper growth hormone (r-ElGH) was in the lar- vae stage and added once more (booster) to snakehead broodstock. The study aims were to investigate effect of these threatments on absolute body growth, spe- cific growth rate, relationship between absolute body length and absolute body weight, and to observe the sexual dimorphism based on morphometric and meris- tic characteristics. This research was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory, Department of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Lampung. Treat- ments arranged using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three replica- tions, consisted of non-booster treatments, namely without salinity shock and without hormone treatment (A), treatment with 0 mg/l, (B), 2 mg/l (C) and 20 mg/l (D) salinity shock treatments. Booster thetreatment at a dose of 3 mg/kg feed (E), BSA 0.1 g/kg(F), 10 mg/kg feed (G), and 30 mg/kg feed (H). Growth data were analyzed for variance and post hoc test was at the 5% level, while sexual dimorphism data were analyzed discriminantly. The results showed that booster r-ElGH significantly affect the growth of absolute weight, specific growth rate, and sexual dimorphism yet no significant effect on the growth of absolute length. The snakehead in this study had a growth pattern positive allometric (b = 3.39). The growth rate increased significantly by 0.37% at P3 with a dose of 3 mg/kg feed. The morphometric character that was able to distinguish sexual dimorphism was the value of the distance between the tip of the mouth to the base of the anal fin in treatment F and H, While the meristic character that was able to distinguish sexual dimorphism was the quantity value of pectoral fin rays in treatment E.
