"The present study is aimed to find out (i) the difference of writing performance\r\n\r\nbetween learners with high and low self-efficacy, (ii) the difference of writing per-\r\nformance between learners with high and low risk-taking, (iii) the difference be-\r\ntween learners with high and low self-efficacy in writing learning strategies, (iv)\r\n\r\nthe difference between high and low risk-taking in writing learning strategies. The\r\nsubjects of this research were the first-grade learners of SMKN 1 Kalianda. This\r\nstudy is quantitative research. It uses criterion group research and descriptive\r\ndesigns. The data were obtained from writing test and questionnaires. The results\r\nshow that the differences of writing performance between learners with high and\r\nlow from self-efficacy and risk-taking groups are not statistically significant. It is\r\nrevealed from t-value which is lower than t-table with the significance level of plus\r\nthan 0.05 (0.703<2.004), (0.485>0.05), and (0.127<2.004), (0.900>0.05). As a\r\n\r\nresult, the hypotheses are rejected. It indicates that the writing performances be-\r\ntween learners with high and low from self-efficacy and risk-taking groups are\r\n\r\nequal. Nevertheless, the other result reveals that the difference between learners\r\nwith high and low self-efficacy in writing learning strategies is not significant. In\r\nfact, the responses of writing learning strategies between learners with high and low\r\nself-efficacy are similar regardless of their levels of self-efficacy. Hence, learners\r\nwith high risk-taking significantly differ from low risk-taking in writing learning\r\nstrategy in writing content. When they were writing content, high risk-takers used\r\na strategy that involves interaction with their peers for suggestions. In contrast, low\r\nrisk-takers favored a strategy that involves recalling and elaboration. In short, the\r\nwriting performances between learners with high and low from self-efficacy and\r\n\r\nrisk-taking groups is almost the same. Additionally, the responses of writing learn-\r\ning strategies between learners with high and low self-efficacy are not significantly\r\n\r\ndifferent. On the contrary, learners from high and low risk-taking groups have dif-\r\nferent preferences of writing learning strategies in writing content.\r\n\r\nKeywords: writing performance, writing learning strategy, self-efficacy, risk-taking"^^ .
