Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis semiotik Roland Barthes,\r\npeneliti ini memfokuskan pada karakter tokoh, adegan, latar, dan dialog pada film\r\nThe Platform. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa data primer dan sekunder.\r\nHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Film The Platform merepresentasikan kritik\r\ntentang sistem yang berlaku di masyarakat. Sikap masyarakat yang individualis dan\r\nsistem kapitalis yang tidak setara, membuat persaingan yang ketat sehingga yang\r\nkuat akan semakin kuat dan yang lemah akan semakin lemah. Film ini menunjukkan\r\nbagaimana hakikat manusia yang selalu merasa kurang, dan selalu ingin\r\nmendapatkan lebih dari apa yang ingin dimilikinya, sehingga menciptakan\r\nketidaksetaraan di antara para penghuni lubang. Individualisme manusia akan\r\nmenciptakan keserakahan, menciptakan kapitalis yang menjadi umum di\r\nmasyarakat, sedang sosialis, akan tergerus keadaan zaman, dan bertolak belakang\r\ndengan hakikat keserakahan manusia tersebut.\r\nKata kunci: film the platform, kritik sosial, representasi.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Platform film tells the story of life in a vertical prison system, played by Goreng (Ivan\r\nMassagué) who decided to enter the Vertical Self-Management Center. This film implicitly\r\ndescribes how the reality of society is in the upper and lower classes. For people who are\r\nwell off, they can access all facilities and get privileges, while for the lower class it is\r\ndifficult for them to even eat. This study aims to determine the representation of social\r\ncriticism in The Platform film. The type of research used is a descriptive qualitative\r\nresearch type. This study uses Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, this researcher focuses\r\non the characters, scenes, settings, and dialogues in The Platform film. Sources of data in\r\nthis study in the form of primary and secondary data. The results of the study show that\r\nThe Platform film represents a critique of the system prevailing in society. The attitude of\r\nthe individualist society and the unequal capitalist system creates intense competition so\r\nthat the strong will be stronger and the weak will be weaker. This film shows how it is\r\nhuman nature to always feel less, and always want to get more than what he wants to have,\r\nthus creating inequality among the inhabitants of the hole. Human individualism will create\r\ngreed, create capitalists who become common in society, while socialism, will be eroded\r\nby the conditions of the times, and contradict the nature of human greed.\r\nKeywords: the platform film, social criticism, representation."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
