This research was quantitative, and the design was ex-post facto design; so, there was no treatment in this research. The population of this research was the second grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Natar. 28 students of XI Science 7 were taken as samples through the use of cluster random sampling. Reading habit questionnaire and writing test were used to obtain the data. Moreover, the data were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation in SPPS 20.0. The result of analysis showed that there was a positive significant correlation between students‘ reading habit and their writing skill since the r-value (0.671) was higher than r-table (0.374). This indicated that the more students read, the higher writing score he or she gets. This research also found out that content was the aspect of writing which has the highest correlation with students‘ reading habit among the five aspects of writing, this happened because when students have good reading habit means they are likely to have a wider knowledge to construct ideas in writing.
