"Perkebunan kelapa sawit di Indonesia setiap tahunnya berkontribusi\r\nmenghasilkan minyak kelapa sawit dan menjadikan Indonesia menduduki posisi\r\npertama produsen sawit terbesar di dunia diikuti dengan luas lahan perkebunan\r\nkelapa sawit yang tiap tahunnya naik. Minyak kelapa sawit merupakan bahan\r\npokok utama di berbagai belahan dunia, terutama untuk keperluan rumah tangga.\r\nSalah satu limbah padat yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan Tandan Buah Segar\r\n(TBS) yaitu Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (TKKS). TKKS merupakan hasil\r\nsamping dari pengolahan minyak kelapa sawit yang pemanfaatannya masih\r\nterbatas sebagai pupuk dan media bagi pertumbuhan jamur serta tanaman.\r\nPermasalahan yang dihadapi pabrik kelapa sawit adalah pembuangan dan\r\npembakaran TKKS. Pembuangan TKKS yang tidak terkendali di lahan\r\nperkebunan kelapa sawit mengakibatkan tumpukan TKKS dalam jumlah yang\r\nsangat besar. Kendala utama dalam pemanfaatan TKKS adalah karakteristik\r\nTKKS yang berserat sehingga mempersulit dalam pemanfaatan lebih lanjut.\r\nUntuk mengatasi masalah tersebut digunakan alat mesin pencacah TKKS untuk\r\nmencacah TKKS supaya mempermudah pemanfaatan TKKS. Mesin pencacah\r\nTKKS dilengkapi dengan 24 mata pisau pencacah dan dapat memotong TKKS\r\ndengan mudah dan efisien.\r\nPenelitian ini dirancang dengan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial yang\r\nterdiri dari 2 faktor, yaitu faktor kecepatan putar mesin (RPM) yang terdiri dari\r\nperlakuan kecepatan putar 900 RPM, 1100 RPM, dan 1300 RPM dan faktor dosis\r\nair yang terdiri dari perlakuan tanpa penambahan air dan penambah air. Pada\r\nperlakuan tanpa penambahan air dari total perlakuan kecepatan putar mesin\r\n(RPM) menunjukkan jumlah kapasitas kerja lebih banyak yaitu sebanyak 80,91\r\nkg/jam dan susut bobot lebih sedikit yaitu sebanyak 38,65 %/jam dibandingkan\r\ndengan perlakuan penambahan air menunjukkan kapasitas kerja lebih sedikit yaitu\r\nsebanyak 61,68 kg/jam dan susut bobot lebih banyak yaitu sebanyak 58,86 %/jam.\r\nPerlakuan tanpa penambahan air jumlah distribusi hasil halus lebih sedikit yaitu\r\n\r\nsebanyak 153,50 %/jam dan distribusi hasil kasar lebih banyak yaitu sebanyak\r\n146,50 dibandingkan dengan perlakuan penambahan air jumlah distribusi hasil\r\nhalus lebih banyak yaitu sebanyak 180,02 %/jam dan distribusi hasil kasar lebih\r\nsedikit yaitu sebanyak 119,98 %/jam. One of the solid wastes produced from the processing of Fresh Fruit\r\nBunches (FFB) is Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB). EFB is a by-product of\r\npalm oil processing whose use is still limited as fertilizer and media for fungal\r\nand plant growth.\r\nThe problems faced by palm oil mills are the disposal and burning of EFB.\r\nUncontrolled disposal of EFB in oil palm plantations results in a huge pile of\r\nEFB. The main obstacle in the use of EFB is the fibrous characteristic of EFB,\r\nmaking it difficult for further utilization. To overcome this problem, a EFB\r\nenumerator was used to enumerate EFB in order to facilitate the utilization of\r\nEFB. The EFB chopper machine is equipped with 24 chopping blades and can cut\r\nEFB easily and efficiently.\r\nThis study was designed with a factorial completely randomized design\r\nconsisting of 2 factors, namely the machine rotational speed factor (RPM) which\r\nconsisted of 900 RPM rotational speed treatment, 1100 RPM, and 1300 RPM and\r\na water dose factor consisting of treatments without adding water and adding\r\nwater.
