"Bayam merah [Alternanthera amoena (Lemaire) Voss.] banyak digemari oleh\r\nmasyarakat karena kandungan nutrisinya yang bermanfaat seperti melancarkan\r\nperedaran darah, menurunkan tekanan darah tinggi dan kolesterol, sehingga\r\nproduksi bayam merah harus lebih dioptimalkan. Saat ini banyak lahan pertanian\r\nyang terakumulasi oleh garam termasuk Indonesia. Salah satu alternatif yang\r\ndapat digunakan yaitu dengan penggunaan varietas bayam merah yang toleran\r\nterhadap cekaman garam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi\r\nNaCl yang efektif terhadap pertumbuhan planlet bayam merah dan karakter\r\nekspresi bayam merah dalam menghadapi cekaman garam secara in vitro.\r\nPenelitian dilaksanakan pada Februari 2021 sampai dengan April 2021 di Ruang\r\nKultur In Vitro, Laboratorium Botani, Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan\r\nIlmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Lampung. Metode yang digunakan adalah\r\nRancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 taraf konsentrasi NaCl yaitu 0%;\r\n0,25%; 0,50%; 0,75% dan 1% dengan 5 kali ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan\r\none way ANOVA pada taraf 5% dan uji lanjut dengan uji Tukey pada taraf nyata\r\n5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi NaCl yang efektif untuk\r\npertumbuhan planlet bayam merah yaitu pada perlakuan 0.25%. Perlakuan NaCl\r\nberpengaruh pada karakter ekspresi planlet bayam merah seperti menurunnya\r\npanjang akar, tinggi tanaman, berat basah dan meningkatnya kandungan\r\nkarbohidrat terlarut total.\r\n\r\nKata kunci : bayam merah, cekaman garam, in vitro, planlet\r\nRed spinach [Alternanthera amoena (Lemaire) Voss.] is very popular with the\r\npublic because of its beneficial nutritional content, such as improving blood\r\ncirculation, lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol, so that red spinach\r\nproduction should be optimized. Currently, a lot of agricultural land is\r\naccumulated by salt, including Indonesia. One alternative that can be used is the\r\nuse of red spinach varieties that are tolerant to salt stress. This study aimed to\r\ndetermine the effective concentration of NaCl on the growth of red spinach\r\nplantlets and the expression character of red spinach in dealing with salt stress in\r\nvitro. The research was carried out from February 2021 to April 2021 in the In\r\nVitro Research Room, Botanical Laboratory, Biology Departement, Faculty of\r\nMathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Lampung. The method used was\r\nCompletely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 levels of NaCl concentration,\r\nnamely 0%; 0.25%; 0.50%; 0.75% and 1% with 5 replications. Data analysis used\r\none way ANOVA at 5% level and further test with Tukey test at 5% significance\r\nlevel. The results showed that the effective concentration of NaCl for the growth\r\nof red spinach plantlets was 0.25%.
