Pineapple leaf fiber composite speciments wede made by chemical treatment of NaOH 0%, 3%, 5%, and 7%. The fiber is 2mm in diameter, the fiber is placed in a mold which is then inserted into the polyester resin matrix. Then the composite material was cured at 75 °C for 2 hours, then the material was introduced to a lathe machine to form a v-notch. The debonding test performed by the tensile test method where the test results showed that the specimen with 7% NaOH fiber treatment had the highest average tensile strength of 4.96 MPa and 3% NaOH treatment had the lowest average tensile strength of 3.44 MPa. Keywords: Composite, natural fiber, pineapple leaf fiber, debonding, matrix cracking, fiber pull-out, fiber breaking. 1 ABSTRAK STUDI KEKUATAN ADHESI SERAT DAUN NANAS TERHADAP MATRIK POLYESTER DENGAN PENGUJIAN DEBONDING Oleh M ILHAM HAMBALI Serat alam mampu meredam suara, isolasi temperatur, memiliki densitas rendah dan kemampuan mekanik tinggi sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan industri. Pembuatan spesimen komposit serat daun nanas dilakukan dengan perlakuan kimia NaOH sebesar 0%, 3%, 5%, dan 7%. Serat di berdiameter 2 mm, serat kemudian diletakan di cetakan yang kemudian di masukan matriks resin polyster. Material komposit di curing dengan temperatur 75 °C selama 2 jam, dan material di bubut untuk membentuk v-notch. Pengujian debonding dilakukan dengan metode uji tarik dimana hasil pengujian menunjukan spesimen dengan perlakuan serat NaOH 7% memiliki kekuatan tarik rata – rata paling tinggi sebesar 4,96 MPa dan perlakuan NaOH 3% memiliki kekuatan tarik rata - rata terendah sebesar 3.44 MPa.
