abstract: The purpose of this study is to explain China's interests in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) policy in Zimbabwe for the period 2013-2018. The formulation of the research problem is, what are China's interests in the Belt and Road Initiative policy program in Zimbabwe. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the concept of national interest according to Donald and the concept of foreign policy according to Mark. The data collection techniques in this study used literature and documentation studies. Data analysis uses the technique according to Miles and Huberman which goes through the stages of data condensation, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The data used is secondary data referenced from the official website of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), bona fide official websites such as OEC World, World Bank, CNN News, The Diplomat and others and supported by descriptions from previous research. The results of the study conclude that from the four (4) interests described by Donald E. Nuechterlein, it can be said that the BRI policy implemented by China in Zimbabwe is more dominant in meeting China's economic interests which try to meet its industrial needs for raw materials, expand its market and financial reach to other countries. BRI's destination countries to Africa, especially Zimbabwe. So it can be said that from the implementation of the BRI program by China in Zimbabwe, there is an economic interest in it which is in line with the objectives of BRI itself, namely to improve and develop the economy and infrastructure for the countries that are passed through or participate in the program.
