%X Penelitian ini berawal dari terjadinya covid-19 varian delta yang masuk ke masyarakat Indonesia. Tersebarnya virus covid-19 perlahan-lahan menjadi hal serius dikarenakan jatuhnya korban jiwa akibat penularan virus ini. Banyaknya kasus kematian akibat covid-19 ini membuat banyaknya media massa yang memberitakan hal ini, salah satunya adalah Kompas.com. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui apakah masyarakat yang membaca berita kematian akibat covid-19 di Kompas.com menjadi paham mengenai kedisiplinan protokol Kesehatan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teori Individual Differences. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel ini ditentukan dengan rumus slovin dengan jumlah 298 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada pengaruh pada berita kematian akibat covid-19 di kompas.com terhadap pemahaman protokol kesehatan dengan uji t-hitung (18.642) > t-tabel (1.960), sehingga hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Berita kematian covid-19 berpengaruh sebesar 54% sedangkan 46% berpengaruh terhadap faktor lain.    Kata kunci : Covid-19, Kompas.com, Protokol Kesehatan    This research started from the background of the occurrence of the delta variant of covid-19 that entered Indonesian society. The spread of the Covid-19 virus is slowly becoming a serious matter due to the death toll due to the transmission of this virus. The number of cases of death due to COVID-19 has made many mass media reporting this, one of which is Kompas.com. The purpose of this study is to find out whether people who read news of death due to covid-19 on Kompas.com understand the discipline of health protocols. The theory used in this research is Individual Differences Theory. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with cluster random sampling technique. This sample was determined by the slovin formula with a total of 298 respondents. The results showed that there was an influence on news of death due to covid-19 on kompas.com on understanding health protocols with the t-count test (18.642) > t-table (1.960), so the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) received. News of the death of Covid-19 affects 54% while 46% affects other factors.    Keyword : Covid-19, Kompas.com, Health Protocol
