        abstract = {Program transmigrasi lokal dilatarbelakangi karena kawasan hutan sebagai sumber daya alam yang seharusnya berguna sesuai fungsinya. Namun, telah mengalami banyak gangguan seperti penyerobotan hutan untuk pemukiman dan sebagai lahan pertanian sehingga dapat merusak fungsi hutan. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, pemerintah memindahkan para penduduk ke daerah lain atau penataan kembali penduduk (resettlement). Program penataan kembali penduduk (resettlement) merupakan latarbelakang adanya program transmigrasi lokal yang terjadi di desa Mekar Sari Kabupaten Mesuji tahun 1982-1986. Berdasarkan deskripsi diatas maka rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah Bagaimana Dampak Transmigrasi Lokal terhadap kondisi Sosial Ekonomi masyarakat Desa Mekar Sari Kabupaten Mesuji Tahun 1982-1986?.
Penelitian ini bertujuan utuk mengetahui Bagaimana Dampak Transmigrasi Lokal terhadap kondisi Sosial Ekonomi masyarakat Desa Mekar Sari Kabupaten Mesuji Tahun 1982-1986. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah metode Deskriptif Kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data kepustakaan, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data kualitatif. Hasil yang didapat peneliti mengenai Dampak Transmigrasi Lokal Terhadap Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi Masyarakat Desa Mekar Sari Kabupaten Mesuji Tahun 1982-1986 yaitu terdapat dampak pada subsektor Sosial Ekonomi yang meliputi dampak jenis pekerjaan yang telah bervariasi. Pada tingkat pendidikan sedikit mengalami peningkatan karena terdapat satu sekolah di UPT dan memiliki jarak yang terjangkau berbeda dengan daerah asal sebelum transmigrasi. Kemudian aktivitas ekonomi telah mengalami sedikit kemajuan karena masyarakat yang tadinya sebagai buruh untuk menggarap lahan kemudian setelah bertransmigrasi menggarap lahan milik sendiri yang telah dibagikan oleh pemerintah, dan aktivitas sosial yang telah berkembang.

The local transmigration program is motivated by the fact that forest areas are natural resources that should be useful according to their functions, but have experienced many disturbances such as forest encroachment for settlements and as agricultural land so that they can damage forest functions. To overcome this problem, the government moved the residents to other areas or resettled the population (resettlement). The resettlement program is the background of the local transmigration program that took place in Mekar Sari village, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986. Based on the description above, the formulation of the research problem is how the impact of local transmigration on the socio-economic conditions of the people of Mekar Sari Village, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986?.
This study aims to find out how the impact of local transmigration on the socio-economic conditions of the people of Mekar Sari Village, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques of literature, documentation, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis technique. The results obtained by researchers regarding the Impact of Local Transmigration on the Socio-Economic Conditions of the Mekar Sari Village community, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986, namely there was an impact on the Socio-Economic sub-sector which included the impact of varied types of work, the level of education slightly increased because there was one school in the UPT and has an affordable distance that is different from the area of origin before transmigration, economic activity has progressed slightly because people who used to work as laborers to work the land then after transmigration work on their own land that has been distributed by the government, and social activities have developed.
