%A 2023042009 EKO PERMADI SUKARMAN %T AUDIO-LINGUAL METHOD BASED ON CONTEXTUAL TEACHING LEARNING TO IMPROVE EXTROVERT AND INTROVERT STUDENTS SPEAKING ACHIEVEMENT %X The aims of this research are 1) to investigate whether there is an improvement in students? speaking achievement after being taught by Audio-Lingual Method based on contextual teaching learning, 2) to investigate the aspects of speaking improve the most after being taught by using Audio-Lingual Method based on Contextual teaching learning, 3) to investigate whether there is a significant difference in speaking achievement between the extrovert and introvert students after being taught by using audio-lingual method based on contextual teaching learning. This population was the English department students of Islamic Institutte of MA-arif NU Metro Lampung. This research applied quantitative research method. The data were collected through test and questionnaire. The data were analyzed using paired sample test and independent sample t-test. The data were collected in form of recording. The result showed that 1) there was a significant improvement in students? speaking achievement after being taught by using audio-lingual method based on contextual teaching learning. The mean in speaking pre-test is 54.5 while post-test is 69.0, with the value of sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 and it lower than 0.05. 2) Grammar aspect shows the highest improvement with gain score is 34 compared to other aspects. 3) There was no significant difference of students? speaking achievement between the extrovert and introvert. The value of the sig.(2-tailed) is 0.469 and it is higher than 0.05. It is suggested to use audio-lingual method based on contextual teaching learning because the students are involved in teaching learning process, and it also makes the students easier to understand the material delivered by the teacher.
