The problem analyzed in the research is to know (1) the difference between the learning models and students? early ability towards their achievement, (2) the difference between GI and TGT learning model towards the students? early achievement with high scores in social stusies, (3) the difference between GI and TGT learning model towards the students? early achievement with average scores in social studies, (4) the difference between GI and TGT learning model towards the students? early achievement with low scores in social studies, (5) the interaction between the use of learning models and students? early ability towards the achievement of social studies for Accounting students class XII. This research uses an experimental approach with a 2 x 3 factorial design. The data is analyzed by using Two-Way Analysis of Variance with different cells. The result shows that (1) there is a difference between learning models and students? early ability, (2) there is a difference between GI and TGT learning model towards students? early achievement with high scores in social studies, (3) there is a difference between GI and TGT learning model towards students? early achievement with average scores in social studies, (4) there is a difference between GI and TGT learning model towards students? early achievement with low scores in social science, (5) there is an interaction between the use of learning models and students? early ability towards the achievement of social studies for Accounting students class XII. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a difference between using Group Investigations (GI) and Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model towards students? achievement by looking at the students? early ability. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji perbedaan model pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigations (GI) dengan model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Permasalahan yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antar model pembelajaran dan antar kemampuan awal siswa, (2) perbedaan hasil belajar IPS dengan model pembelajaran GI dan TGT pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan awal tinggi, (3) perbedaan hasil belajar IPS dengan model pembelajaran GI dan TGT pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan awal sedang, (4) perbedaan hasil belajar IPS dengan model pembelajaran GI dan TGT pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan awal rendah, (5) Interaksi antara penggunaan model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal terhadap hasil belajar mata pelajaran IPS untuk siswa kelas XII Akuntansi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen dengan rancangan desain faktorial 2 x 3. Data dianalisa dengan menggunakan variansi dua jalan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antar model pembelajaran dan antar kemampuan awal siswa, (2) ada perbedaan hasil belajar IPS dengan model pembelajaran GI dan TGT pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan awal tinggi, (3) ada perbedaan hasil belajar IPS dengan model pembelajaran GI dan TGT pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan awal sedang, (4) ada perbedaan hasil belajar IPS dengan model pembelajaran GI dan TGT pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan awal rendah, (5) ada interaksi antara penggunaan model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal terhadap hasil belajar mata pelajaran IPS untuk siswa kelas XII Akuntansi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Group Investigations (GI) dengan model pembelajaran Team Groups Tournament (TGT).
