Komunikasi dan  pemahaman yang terjalin baik antara orang tua dan anak penderita autisme sangat  bermanfaat saat mengatasi tantrum anak yang tak terkendali. Berdasarkan hal tersebut,  penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses komunikasi antar pribadi orang tua  dalam mengatasi tantrum anak autis. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah  teori DeVito dengan cara pendekatan humanistik yang meliputi lima aspek yaitu  keterbukaan, empati, dukungan, rasa positif, dan kesetaraan. Penelitian ini menggunakan  tipe penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara dan  observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi antar pribadi dengan  pendekatan humanistik oleh DeVito dapat membantu orang tua memahami anak autis  sehingga ketika anak tantrum orang tua dapat mengatasinya. Penelitian ini menunjukkan  bahwa aspek sikap mendukung adalah aspek yang paling kuat dan aspek empati adalah  aspek yang paling lemah.    Kata kunci : Komunikasi antarpribadi, pendekatan humanistik, tantrum,  orangtua, autis      Developmental disorders that occur in autistic children make it difficult for children to  communicate so that tantrums are more often experienced by autistic children. Good  communication and understanding between parents and children with autism is very  useful when dealing with uncontrollable tantrums in children. Based on this, this study  aims to describe the process of interpersonal communication between parents in  overcoming the tantrums of autistic children. The theory used in this research is DeVito's  theory with a humanistic approach which includes five aspects, namely openness,  empathy, support, positive feeling, and equality. This research uses descriptive  qualitative research with interview and observation data collection techniques. The  results of this study indicate that interpersonal communication with a humanistic  approach by DeVito can help parents understand autistic children so that when children  have tantrums, parents can overcome them. This research shows that the aspect of  supportive attitude is the strongest aspect and the aspect of empathy is the weakest  aspect.
