To achieve this objective, students in class VIII.7 of SMPN 1 Bandar Lampung were involved, and the data were obtained by using a vocabulary test. Through data analysis, it was shown that the t-value was higher than the t-table, at the significant level 0.00 {\ensuremath{<}} 0.05. The difference in the mean score between the pretest and posttest was 18.7 (from 70.5 to 89.2). Noun was noted as the most improved among other content words. Teaching English through song is recommended for teachers because it provides a fun activity that is needed by students to enhance their motivation to learn English vocabulary. Teaching English by using songs as media serves to motivate students since it provides a relaxing environment to learn language, which makes students more interested.
