Sugarcane is typically planted and harvested within approximately one year and can yield thousands to tens of thousands of sugarcane stalks. Calculating sugarcane harvest yields can be a time-consuming task for farmers before further processing can take place. Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis) is a type of tree known for producing palm oil. This palm tree originates from West Africa but is now widely cultivated worldwide, especially in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and Malaysia. Palm oil is one of the most widely used vegetable oils globally and is used in various food products, cosmetics, biodiesel, and more. This research project involves creating a calculation system for sugarcane and palm oil trees on sugarcane and palm oil plantation land to enable monitoring by farmers or companies. The research is implemented using a vegetation index identification system using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones. It processes images using adaptive thresholding and contour extraction through image processing with the Python programming language and the OpenCV library. The research results include visual and direct calculations in sugarcane and palm oil plantations in Bekri, Lampung Tengah, with a margin of error tolerance of 3.02%. The information on the quantity of sugarcane and palm oil trees can be utilized for monitoring sugarcane and palm oil plantations.
