abstract: Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui alasan yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa dalam memilih program studi pendidikan geografi dari beberapa faktor. Pendekatan yang digunakan yakni kuantitatif deskriptif dengan populasi dalam penelitian ini yakni seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Geografi Angkatan 2022 yang berjumlah 106 orang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian dengan uji-t hasil bahwa penilaian respon terhadap faktor orang tua adalah tinggi dengan persentase 33,96%. Terhadap faktor teman sebaya adalah sangat rendah dengan persentase 54,28%. Terhadap faktor Gender adalah rendah dengan persentase 38,68%. Terhadap faktor karakteristik individu adalah tinggi dengan  persentase 36,79%.  Terhadap  faktor  citra program  studi  adalah  tinggi dengan persentase 40,57%. Terhadap prospek lapangan pekerjaan adalah sangat tinggi dengan persentase 65,09%.

This research was conducted with the aim of finding out the reasons that influence students in choosing a geography education study program from several factors. The approach used is descriptive quantitative with the population in this research being all students of the Geography Education Study Program Class of 2022, totaling  106  people.  The  data  analysis  technique  used  in  this  research  is descriptive percentage analysis.
The results of research using the t-test showed that the response assessment to parental factors was high with a percentage of 33.96%. The peer factor is very low with a percentage of 54.28%. The gender factor is low with a percentage of
38.68%. The individual characteristic factor is high with a percentage of 36.79%. The image factor of the study program is high with a percentage of 40.57%. The job prospects are very high with a percentage of 65.09%.
