WILLINGNESS TO COMMUNICATE AND THEIR SPEAKING PERFORMANCE AT ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMKN 2 KOTA METRO %X This study investigated the correlation between students' willingness to communicate (WTC) and their speaking performance among eleventh-grade students of SMKN 2 Kota Metro. The population of this study was all students of SMKN 2 Kota Metro, with a sample taken from class XI OTO 1, consisting of 30 students. Utilizing a quantitative research method, the data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The research instrument was a questionnaire containing 10 items. The validity of the instrument was found to be greater than 0.361, and the reliability was 0.865. The results indicated a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) of 0.734 between WTC and speaking performance. Furthermore, the p-value for this correlation was less than 0.01, demonstrating that the relationship was statistically significant at the 0.01 level (2-tailed). These findings was a strong and significant positive correlation between students' willingness to communicate and their speaking performance, emphasizing the importance of fostering communication willingness to improve speaking skills.
