"In this research, zeolite-A was synthesized from rice husk silica and food-grade\r\naluminum foil through a hydrothermal method for 72 hours at a temperature of\r\n100 oC, followed by calcination at 550 oC for 6 hours. The obtained zeolite-A was\r\ncharacterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope\r\n(SEM), Fourier Transform InfraRed (FTIR), Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), and\r\nBrunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). The transesterification reaction of crude palm oil\r\n(CPO) with methanol, aided by the zeolite-A catalyst, was conducted using the\r\nreflux method to produce biodiesel. The optimum conditions for the\r\ntransesterification reaction were evaluated using Response Surface Methodology\r\n(RSM) with a 3-level factorial design, observing variables affecting the\r\npercentage of biodiesel conversion, such as the variation in the amount of catalyst\r\n(5%, 7.5%, and 10%), methanol to oil ratio (3:1, 4.5:1, and 6:1), and reaction time\r\n(5, 6, and 7 hours). The results showed that the optimum conditions were obtained\r\nwith 9.1% catalyst usage, a methanol to oil ratio of 5.9:1, and a reaction time of\r\n6.9 hours, yielding a conversion rate of 77.8%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi\r\noptimum diperoleh pada penggunaan katalis sebanyak 9.1%, nisbah metanol\r\nterhadap minyak 5.9:1, dan waktu reaksi 6.9 jam dengan hasil konversi sebesar\r\n77.8 %.
