"Work engagement telah menjadi perhatian para pemimpin dan manajer\r\norganisasi di seluruh dunia. Mereka mengenalinya sebagai salah satu elemen penting\r\nyang mempengaruhi efektivitas kerja sebuah organisasi. Oleh sebab itu, selama dua\r\ndekade terakhir jumlah studi dan penelitian tentang work engagement telah\r\nmeningkat pesat. Akan tetapi hampir semua penelitian tersebut dilakukan pada sektor\r\nperusahaan dan organisasi lainnya, dan masih sedikit ditemukan penelitian tentang\r\ntopik work engagement pada lembaga pendidikan khususnya di Indonesia. Penelitian\r\nini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan urgensi authentic leadership dan servant\r\nleadership dalam mendukung teacher followership untuk meningkatkan teacher work\r\nengagement. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif survey dengan melibatkan\r\nresponden sebanyak 378 guru ASN. Responden dipilih menggunakan teknik\r\nmultistage random sampling dari populasi guru ASN yang bekerja pada jenjang\r\nSMA/SMK Negeri di provinsi Lampung. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis\r\nmenggunakan teknik Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) dengan berbantuan\r\naplikasi AMOS versi-23. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa (1) authentic\r\nleadership maupun servant ledership berpengaruh positif terhadap teacher work\r\nengagement; (2) authentic leadership maupun servant ledership berpengaruh positif\r\ndan signifikan terhadap teacher followership; (3) teacher followership berpengaruh\r\npositif dan signifikan terhadap teacher work engagement; dan (4) teacher\r\nfollowership secara signifikan memediasi pengaruh positif variabel authentic\r\nleadership maupun servant ledership terhadap teacher work engagement. Penelitian\r\nini juga menemukan konseptualisasi baru tentang teacher followership sekaligus\r\nmenghasilkan instrumen pengukuran baru tentang teacher followership yang bernama\r\nTeacher Followership Scale (TFS;16 item).\r\nKata kunci: authentic leadership, servant ledership, teacher followership, teacher\r\n\r\nwork engagement.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLow teacher work engagement in the educational sphere is associated with\r\nabsenteeism, low work morale, and poor quality of services provided to students.\r\nTeachers with high levels of work engagement show higher levels of organizational\r\ncommitment and are twice as productive as those who are not engaged in their work.\r\nTherefore, work engagement is seen as one way to increase commitment,\r\nperformance and optimal service quality. This research aims to describe the urgency\r\nof authentic leadership and servant leadership in supporting teacher followership to\r\nincrease teacher work engagement. This research is a quantitative survey research\r\ninvolving 378 teachers as respondents. Respondents were selected using a multistage\r\nrandom sampling technique from the population of ASN teachers who work at the\r\nState High School/Vocational School level in Lampung province. The collected data\r\nwas then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique with the\r\nhelp of the Amos version-23 application. The results of this research found that (1)\r\nauthentic leadership and servant leadership have a positive effect on teacher work\r\nengagement; (2) authentic leadership and servant leadership have a positive and\r\nsignificant effect on teacher followership; (3) teacher followership has a positive and\r\nsignificant effect on teacher work engagement; and (4) teacher followership\r\nsignificantly mediates the positive influence of the authentic leadership and servant\r\nleadership variables on the teacher work engagement variable.
