        abstract = {The objective of the research was to find out whether there is any significant
difference of students? writing achievement between the pre test and post test after
the implementation of picture Series.
The result of the research showed that there was a any significant difference of
students? writing achievement between the pre test and post that the mean score of
the pretest is 50.239 and the posttest is 57.217 with the significant level 0.000 from
pretest to posttest after they were taught using picture series. Picture series gave
students a chance to think critically and interpret events in the picture and wrote
their ideas. In addition, the aspect of writing that improved the most was
organization. Picture series helped them to produce a text; wrote their ideas into
sentences to make the coherence and the unity of recount text, so the organization
of the text could be improved. This suggests that picture series can be applied in
teaching a recount text writing to improve students? ability.
