%T PERAN MISIONARIS KATOLIK DALAM KEHIDUPAN SOSIAL  KEMASYARAKATAN DI PRINGSEWOE TAHUN 1932-1942

%X Misionaris Katolik memiliki peran penting dalam mewartakan Injil kepada  masyarakat khususnya di Pringsewoe. Misionaris mulai menetap pada Tahun 1932.  Keadaan kesehatan dan pendidikan masyarakat saat itu masih rendah dikarenakan  kurangnya pengetahuan dalam menangani permasalahan tersebut. Melihat kondisi  seperti itu, misionaris Katolik memiliki rasa tanggung jawab untuk menyelesaikan  permasalahan tersebut tanpa mengesampingkan misi penyebaran agama Katolik.  Tujuan penelitan ini, yaitu untuk mengetahui peran misionaris Katolik dalam  kehidupan sosial kemasyarakatan di Pringsewoe Tahun 1932-1942 mencakup  pelayanan bidang kesehatan dan pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  historis dengan empat langkah penelitian, yaitu heuristik merupakan kegiatan  mengumpulkan sumber. Kritik merupakan tahap menguji autensititas sumber.  Interpretasi merupakan tahap menginterpretasikan. Historiografi merupakan tahap  terakhir berupa penulisan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah  dengan teknik dokumentasi dan teknik studi pustaka. Data yang digunakan berupa  buku, jurnal, dokumen atau arsip, seperti majalah dan surat kabar Kolonial Belanda.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pelayanan bidang kesehatan, misi telah  membuka klinik rawat jalan dan mendirikan rumah sakit. Pada bidang pelayanan  pendidikan, misionaris mendirikan beberapa sekolah, seperti sekolah tingkat dasar  meliputi HIS (Hollands Inlandsche School), Volkschool, Vervolkschool, dan  Sekolah St. Melania. Pendidikan kejuruan meliputi CVO (Cursus Volks  Onderwijs). Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah peran misionaris Katolik di  Pringsewoe membawa kemajuan positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup  masyarakat melalui layanan kesehatan dan pendidikan sehingga peran misionaris  Katolik bukan hanya semata-mata untuk kepentingan Gereja Katolik, tetapi sebagai  bentuk kepeduliaan terhadap peradaban masyarakat di Pringsewoe.  Kata Kunci: Peran, Misionaris Katolik, Sosial Kemasyarakatan, Pringsewoe  Catholic missionaries have an important role in spreading the Gospel to the  community, especially in Pringsewoe, which entered and began to settle in 1932.  The health and education conditions of the community at that time were still low  due to the lack of knowledge in dealing with these problems. Seeing these  conditions, Catholic missionaries have the responsibility to solve these problems  without neglecting the mission of spreading the Catholic religion. The purpose of  this study is to determine the role of Catholic missionaries in the lives of the  community in Pringsewoe in 1932-1942 including health and education services.  This study uses a historical method with four research steps, namely heuristics,  which is the activity of collecting sources. Criticism is the stage of testing the  authenticity of the source. Interpretation is the stage of interpreting.  Historiography is the final stage in the form of writing. The data collection  techniques used are documentation techniques and library study techniques. The  data used are in the form of books, journals, documents or archives, such as Dutch  Colonial magazines and newspapers. The results of the study show that in health  services, outpatient clinics and hospitals have been established. In the field of  educational services, missionaries established several schools, such as HIS  (Hollands Inlandsche School), Volkschool, Vervolkschool, CVO (Cursus Volks  Onderwijs), and St. Melania School. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the  role of Catholic missionaries in Pringsewoe brought positive progress in improving  the quality of life of the community through health and education services so that  the role of Catholic missionaries is not only for the benefit of the Catholic Church,  but as a form of concern for the civilization of the community in Pringsewoe.
