abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian kompos limbah kulit buah kopi dengan starter yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria). Starter yang digunakan meliputi kontrol (tanpa starter), Mikroorganisme Lokal (MOL), Effective Microorganisms (EM4), dan urin kelinci. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, jumlah dan panjang akar, biomassa, serta indeks mutu bibit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dengan MOL memberikan hasil terbaik dalam meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah akar, biomassa, dan indeks mutu bibit sengon dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Sementara itu, EM4 menunjukkan pengaruh positif terhadap panjang akar tanaman. Perlakuan menggunakan starter kompos limbah kulit buah kopi memberikan pengaruh yang bervariasi terhadap pertumbuhan sengon. Pemilihan jenis starter kompos yang tepat sangat penting untuk mencapai tujuan spesifik, baik dalam mendorong pertumbuhan fisik yang optimal maupun meningkatkan kualitas dan kekuatan sistem perakaran bibit. Dari hasil penelitian, starter M1 yang menggunakan MOL terbukti paling efektif dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi, diameter, jumlah akar, biomassa, dan indeks mutu bibit sengon. Di sisi lain, starter M2 yang menggunakan EM4 menunjukkan pengaruh lebih besar terhadap panjang akar, menjadikannya pilihan yang lebih baik untuk fokus pada kekuatan sistem perakaran. Secara keseluruhan, perlakuan M1 merupakan yang terbaik, mengungguli 5 dari 7 parameter yang diobservasi.

This study aims to evaluate the effect of applying compost made from coffee fruit peel waste with different starters on the growth of sengon plants (Paraserianthes falcataria). The starters used include a control (without starter), Local Microorganisms (MOL), Effective Microorganisms (EM4), and rabbit urine. The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The observed parameters included plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, number and length of roots, biomass, and seedling quality index. The results indicate that the treatment with MOL produced the best outcomes in enhancing plant height, stem diameter, root number, biomass, and seedling quality index compared to the other treatments. Meanwhile, EM4 showed a positive effect on root length. The application of compost made from coffee fruit peel waste has a varied impact on the growth of sengon. Selecting the appropriate type of compost starter is crucial for achieving specific goals, whether to promote optimal physical growth or to enhance the quality and strength of the seedling root system. From the findings, starter M1 using MOL proved to be the most effective in improving plant height, diameter, root number, biomass, and seedling quality index. On the other hand, starter M2 using EM4 demonstrated a greater influence on root length, making it a better choice when focusing on root system strength. Overall, treatment M1 was the best, outperforming 5 out of the 7 observed parameters.
