"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan model\r\npembelajaran controversial issues bermodifikasi problem based learning dalam\r\nmeningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, selanjutnya menganalisis\r\nefektivitas model pembelajaran controversial issues bermodifikasi problem based\r\nlearning dibandingkan dengan model problem based learning dalam peningkatan\r\nkemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran PPKn bagi peserta didik. Metode\r\nyang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi\r\neksperimen. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran dengan\r\npenggunaan model pembelajaran controversial issues bermodifikasi problem based\r\nlearning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Adanya\r\nketerlibatan langsung peserta didik dalam pembelajaran menjadi hal utama dalam\r\nmodel pembelajaran controversial issues bermodifikasi problem based learning.\r\nSehingga dominan peran peserta didik pada proses pembelajaran yang berlangsung\r\nmampu menjadikan peserta didik dapat mengeskplorasi pemahaman mereka secara\r\nmendalam. Sehingga kemampuan berpikir kritis akan dapat terinternalisasi dengan\r\nlebih mudah. Hal ini dapat dilihat hasil uji kemampuan akhir yang menunjukkan\r\nbahwa: (1) Terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran controversial\r\nissues bermodifikasi problem based learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan\r\nberpikir kritis peserta didik; (2) Terdapat perbedaan antara penggunaan model\r\npembelajaran controversial issues bermodifikasi problem based learning dan\r\nmodel problem based learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis\r\npeserta didik, berdasarkan hasil uji N-gain, menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model\r\npembeljaran controversial issues bermodifikasi problem based learning efektif\r\nuntuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran\r\nPPKn.\r\nKata kunci: Controversial Issues bermodifikasi Problem Based Learning,\r\nBerpikir Kritis, Pembelajaran PPKn\r\nCONTROVERSIAL ISSUES LEARNING MODELS MODIFICATION OF\r\nPROBLEM-BASED LEARNING IN IMPROVING STUDENTS'\r\nCRITICAL THINKING ABILITY\r\nBy\r\nHadi Hartono\r\nThis research aims to analyze the effect of using the controversial issues learning\r\nmodel modified problem based learning in improving students' critical thinking\r\nskills and analyzing the effectiveness of the controversial issues learning model\r\nmodified problem based learning compared to the problem based learning model in\r\nimproving critical thinking skills in Civics learning for students . The method used\r\nin this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The results of this\r\nresearch state that learning using the controversial issues learning model modified\r\nproblem based learning can improve students' critical thinking abilities. The direct\r\ninvolvement of students in learning is the main thing in the controversial issues\r\nlearning model modified problem based learning. So that the dominant role of\r\nstudents in the ongoing learning process is able to enable students to explore their\r\nunderstanding in depth. So critical thinking skills can be internalized more easily.\r\nThis can be seen from the results of the final ability test which shows that: (1) There\r\nis an influence of using the controversial issues learning model modified problem\r\nbased learning on increasing students' critical thinking abilities; (2) There is a\r\ndifference between the use of the controversial issues learning model modified\r\nproblem based learning and the problem based learning model in improving\r\nstudents' critical thinking abilities, based on the results of the N-gain test, indicating\r\nthat the application of the controversial issues learning model modified problem\r\nbased learning is effective in improving abilities students' critical thinking in Civics\r\nsubjects.\r\nKeywords: Controversial Issues modified Problem Based Learning, Critical\r\nThinking, Civics Learning"^^ .
