%X Media sosial OkCupid salah satunya, yang mengarahkan peneliti untuk  mempelajari komunikasi pengguna OkCupid dalam menjalin persahabatan di  kalangan mahasiswa Universitas Lampung. Media sosial ini unik dan  memungkinkan seseorang untuk berteman tanpa perlu saling mengenal secara  langsung. Selain itu, beberapa mahasiswa Universitas Lampung juga merupakan  pengguna OkCupid. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan  dokumen. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis  deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perilaku mahasiswa universitas  Lampung, yaitu perilaku komunikasi dari aktif menjadi pasif disebabkan oleh  smartphone (Aplikasi OkCupid), berkurangnya komunikasi tatap muka  disebabkan oleh smartphone, tidak fokus dalam berkomunikasi disebabkan oleh  smartphone, dan perilaku komunikasi daring disebabkan oleh smartphone. Dari  hasil penelitian pola komunikasi yang tercipta adalah pola komunikasi Bintang,  Komunikasi yang berpola bintang mempunyai kekuatan atau kemampuan yang  sama untuk dapat memberikan pengaruh kepada sumber yang lain. Dalam hal ini,  mahasiswa pengguna aplikasi OkCupid dapat berinteraksi dengan siapa saja yang  menjadi penerima ataupun berada pada jangkauan mahasiswa tersebut. Mahasiswa  dapat berkomunikasi serta mengirim pesan dan berinterasi dengan bebas kepada  siapa saja yang menerima pertemanan di aplikasi OkCupid. ABSTRACT  COMMUNICATION BEHAVIOR OF OKCUPID ONLINE DATING  APPLICATION USERS IN FRIENDSHIP RELATIONS  (Case Study of a Female Student at the University of Lampung  OkCupid Online App Users)  By  Gesy Redila Arva  OkCupid social media is one of them, which led researchers to study the  communication of OkCupid users in establishing friendships among Lampung  University students. This social media is unique and allows people to make friends  without needing to know each other directly. Apart from that, several Lampung  University students are also OkCupid users. Data was collected through  interviews, observations and documents. Data analysis in this research uses  descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the behavior  of Lampung University students is that communication behavior from active to  passive is caused by smartphones (OkCupid application), reduced face-to-face  communication is caused by smartphones, lack of focus in communication is  caused by smartphones, and online communication behavior is caused by  smartphones. From the research results, the communication pattern created is the  star communication pattern. Communication with a star pattern has the same  power or ability to influence other sources. In this case, students using the  OkCupid application can interact with anyone who is the recipient or is within  reach of the student. Students can communicate and send messages and interact  freely with anyone who accepts friendship on the OkCupid application.  Keywords: Communication Behavior and Friendship Relations.
