Pengendalian gulma umumnya dilakukan dengan aplikasi herbisida. Penggunaan herbisida dilaporkan menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif, seperti pencemaran lingkungan. Penggunaan herbisida metabolit sekunder jamur dapat menjadi alternatif untuk mengurangi aplikasi herbsidia sintetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. sebagai herbisida untuk mengendalikan gulma A.gangetica dan mengetahui fitotoksisitasnya pada tanaman kakao. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas: tanpa metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp., metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. dari gulma enceng gondok, metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. dari gulma Digitaria, dan metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. dari gulma Rottboellia. Uji pada gulma A. gangetica dilakukan dengan metode bioassay yaitu uji pratumbuh, uji pelukaan, dan uji pascatumbuh. Uji fitotoksistas pada bibit kakao dilakukan hanya pada pascatumbuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. mampu menghambat perkecambahan benih A. gangetica sebesar 100\%, metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. dari gulma Digitaria mampu menimbulkan nekrotik pada daun gulma A. gangetica, dan metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. dari gulma Digitaria dan gulma Rottboellia cenderung menghambat pertumbuhan gulma A. gangetica. Uji fitotoksisitas pada bibit kakao menunjukkan bahwa metabolit sekunder jamur Curvularia sp. menimbulkan gejala fitotoksisitas dalam katergori ringan. One of the weeds found in cocoa plantations is Asystasia gangetica. A. gangetica has a rapid growth ability and is considered an invasive weed. Weed control is generally achieved through herbicide application. The use of herbicides has been reported to cause various negative effects, such as environmental pollution. The use of secondary metabolites from fungi could be an alternative to reduce the application of synthetic herbicides. This study aimed to test the secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp. as herbicides to control the weed A. gangetica and to assess their phytotoxicity on cocoa seedlings. The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The treatments consisted of the following: without secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp., secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp. from water hyacinth, secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp. from Digitaria, and secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp. from Rottboellia. Testing of the weed A. gangetica was performed using a bioassay method, which included pre-emergence, wound, and post-emergence tests. Phytotoxicity tests on cocoa seedlings were conducted only during the post-emergence phase. The results of the study showed that the secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp. inhibited the germination of A. gangetica seeds by 100\%. The secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp. from Digitaria caused necrosis in the leaves of A. gangetica, and the secondary metabolites from Digitaria and Rottboellia tended to inhibit the growth of A. gangetica. A phytotoxicity test on cocoa seedlings indicated that the secondary metabolites of Curvularia sp. caused mild symptoms of phytotoxicity.
