Oleh  karena itu, perlu adanya usaha perbaikan mutu genetik daging yaitu dengan cara  menyeleksi dan mengawinkan domba yang berkualitas baik dalam menghasilkan  produksi daging yang berkualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  pengaruh umur dan waktu koleksi semen domba serta interaksi terhadap kualitas  semen secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada  November–Desember 2023, di Teaching Farm Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas  Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Studi Kasus  dengan rancangan percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Pola Faktorial dengan  menggunakan 18 ekor Domba Ekor Tipis (Ovis aries) yang diklasifikasikan  menjadi dua kelompok yaitu perlakuan perbedaan umur dan perbedaan waktu  koleksi semen. Perlakuan perbedaan umur terdiri dari P1 : domba dengan kondisi  gigi belum berganti (umur <1 tahun) dan P2 : domba dengan kondisi gigi sudah  berganti (umur >1 tahun). Perlakuan waktu koleksi semen yaitu R1 : koleksi  semen di pagi hari pukul 07.00–09.00 WIB dan R2 : koleksi semen di sore hari  pukul 15.00–17.00 WIB. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANCOVA  (Analysis of Covariance) dan uji lanjut Least Significant Difference (LSD). Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara umur dan waktu  koleksi semen Domba Ekor Tipis terhadap kualitas makroskopis dan mikroskopis  spermatozoa, perbedaan umur dan waktu koleksi semen tidak menyebabkan  perubahan pada kualitas makroskopis spermatozoa, perbedaan umur dan waktu  koleksi semen tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kualitas mikroskopis  spermatozoa.    Kata Kunci: Domba ekor tipis, Kualitas Semen, Spermatozoa, Umur domba,    Waktu koleksi semen    Consumption and demand for meat have been increasing every year, but this has  not been matched by an increase in meat productivity. Therefore, efforts to  improve the genetic quality of meat are necessary, which can be done by selecting  and breeding sheep with good qualities to produce high–quality meat. This study  aims to determine the effect of age and semen collection time on sheep, as well as  their interaction, on the quality of semen macroscopically and microscopically.  This research was conducted from November–December 2023 at Teaching Farm,  Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of  Lampung. This study used the case study method with a Complete Randomized  Design in a Factorial Pattern, using 18 Thin–tailed Sheep (Ovis aries) classified  into two groups based on age difference and semen collection time. The age  difference treatment consisted of P1: sheep with unshorn teeth condition (age <1  year) and P2: sheep with shorn teeth condition (age >1 year). The semen  collection time treatments were R1: semen collection in the morning from 07:00–  09:00 WIB and R2: semen collection in the afternoon from 15:00–17:00 WIB.  The data obtained were analyzed using ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance) and  Least Significant Difference (LSD) follow–up test. The results showed no  interaction between age and semen collection time on the macroscopic and  microscopic quality of Thin–tailed Sheep spermatozoa. The differences age and  semen collection time did not cause changes in the macroscopic quality of  spermatozoa, and the differences age and semen collection time had no significant  effect (P>0.05) on the microscopic quality of spermatozoa.
