Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Borg and Gall. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung, SMP Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung, dan MTsN 2 Bandar Lampung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan penyebaran angket kepada ahli materi, ahli media, praktisi, dan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar menulis teks berita berbasis problem based learning dan project based learning untuk peserta didik SMP kelas VII dapat dikembangkan menggunakan desain penelitian Borg and Gall. Bahan ajar tersebut layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks berita kelas VII SMP. Hasil uji ahli materi memperoleh penilaian rata-rata sebesar 91 dengan kategori sangat layak, ahli media 88,75 dengan kategori layak, dan praktisi 95 dengan kategori sangat layak. Uji coba produk skala kecil diperoleh nilai rata-rata 87,45 dengan kategori layak dan uji coba skala luas diperoleh nilai rata-rata 87,51 dengan kategori layak. Berdasarkan uji efektivitas, bahan ajar ini dikategorikan cukup efektif untuk membantu proses pembelajaran. Nilai tes awal siswa ialah 66 dan nilai tes akhir 85 dengan skor N-Gain 0,54 berkategori sedang. Kata kunci: Bahan Ajar, Teks Berita, PBL dan PjBL This research aims to develop teaching materials for writing news texts based on problem based learning and project based learning, describe the feasibility of teaching materials for writing news texts based on problem based learning and project based learning, and measure the effectiveness value of teaching materials for writing news texts based on problem based learning and projects based learning. This research uses the Borg and Gall research design. The research was conducted at Al-Kautsar Middle School Bandar Lampung, Al-Azhar 3 Middle School Bandar Lampung, and MTsN 2 Bandar Lampung. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews and distributing questionnaires to material experts, media experts, practitioners and students. The research results show that teaching materials for writing news texts based on problem based learning and project based learning for class VII junior high school students can be developed using the Borg and Gall research design. These teaching materials are suitable for use in learning to write news texts for class VII middle school. The results of the material expert test obtained an average rating of 91 in the very appropriate category, media experts 88.75 in the appropriate category, and practitioners 95 in the very appropriate category. Small scale product trials obtained an average value of 87.45 in the feasible category and large scale trials obtained an average value of 87.51 in the feasible category. Based on the effectiveness test, this teaching material is categorized as quite effective in helping the learning process. The student's initial test score was 66 and the final test score was 85 with an N-Gain score of 0.54 in the medium category.
