description: Penelitian ini membahas tentang Ngakken Anak (adopsi) dalam masyarakat adat  Lampung Pepadun di Kelurahan Gunung Sugih, Kecamatan Gunung Sugih,  Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Dalam budaya Lampung Pepadun, khususnya di    masyarakat Gunung Sugih, terdapat adat dan keharusan untuk memiliki anak laki-  laki (ragah), baik dari rahim ibu kandung maupun melalui adopsi. Permasalahan    dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi Ngakken  Anak (adopsi); (2) tata cara pelaksanaan Ngakken Anak (adopsi); dan (3)  kedudukan anak yang diadopsi dalam masyarakat adat Lampung Pepadun.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data  melalui kuesioner dan wawancara kepada tujuh informan yang dipilih. Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ngakken Anak (adopsi) dilaksanakan jika satu  keluarga (ayah, ibu/suami, istri) tidak memiliki keturunan atau anak, terutama  anak laki-laki (ragah). Adopsi juga sering dilakukan untuk menambah anggota  keluarga atau sebagai akibat dari musibah. Tata cara Ngakken Anak (adopsi)  terdiri dari dua tahap, yaitu melalui musyawarah adat (Perwatin) dan peminangan  langsung oleh pihak keluarga yang ingin mengadopsi anak kepada keluarga lain,  baik dari kerabat sendiri maupun pihak luar. Kedudukan anak yang diadopsi  adalah untuk melengkapi struktur keluarga, menggantikan peran ayah dalam  keluarga dan adat, menjadi penerus generasi, serta menggantikan peran dan  kedudukan ayah serta sebagai penerima warisan.  Kata Kunci : Ngakken Anak, Budaya, Pepadun    iv    ABSTRACT    "NGAKKEN ANAK" (ADOPTION) IN THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF  LAMPUNG PEPADUN IN GUNUNG SUGIH SUB-DISTRICT,  SUBDISTRICTGUNUNG SUGIH KABUPATEN LAMPUNG TENGAH    M. Dian Antariksa    This study discusses Ngakken Anak (adoption) in the indigenous community  of Lampung Pepadun in Gunung Sugih Village, Gunung Sugih District,  Central Lampung Regency. In the culture of Lampung Pepadun, especially in  the Gunung Sugih community, there is a custom and necessity to have a son  (ragah), both from the womb of the biological mother and through adoption.  The problems in this study are: (1) factors behind Ngakken Anak (adoption);  (2) procedures for implementing Child Ngakken (adoption); and (3) the  position of adopted children in the indigenous community of Lampung  Pepadun. This study used a descriptive method with data collection  techniques through questionnaires and interviews with seven selected  informants. The results showed that Ngakken Anak (adoption) is carried out if  one family (father, mother / husband, wife) does not have children or  children, especially sons (ragah). Adoption is also often done to add family  members or as a result of a disaster. The procedure for Ngakken Anak  (adoption) consists of two stages, namely through customary deliberation  (Perwatin) and direct marriage by the family who wants to adopt the child to  another family, both from their own relatives and outsiders. The position of  the adopted child is to complete the family structure, replace the father's role  in the family and customs, become the successor of the generation, and  replace the role and position of the father and as the recipient of inheritance.
