Untuk mengetahui kelestarian perairan embung di Univesitas Lampung, maka perlu diketahui kesuburan perairan sehingga dilaku- kan penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari kesuburan perairan embung di Universitas Lampung dan mengkaji kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman fitoplankton serta hubungannya dengan parameter fisika-kimia perairan. Pengam- bilan sampel fitoplankton dilakukan di 5 stasiun (embung A, B, C1, C2 dan D). Parameter fisika-kimia yang diukur adalah suhu, pH, kedalaman, kecerahan, DO, nitrat, nitrit, amonia dan fosfat. Hasil perhitungan kelimpahan fitoplankton yaitu berkisar 4,060-8,320 sel/L yang menunjukkan perairan embung-embung tergo- long perairan mesotrofik atau perairan dengan kesuburan sedang. Nilai indeks ke- anekaragaman berkisar 2,29-2,77, nilai indeks keseragaman 0,82-0,92 dan nilai indeks dominansi 0,06-0,09. Analisis hasil PCA menunjukkan kelimpahan fito- plankton di embung Universitas Lampung dipengaruhi nitrat, fosfat, suhu, pH, dan DO. To determine the sustainability of embung waters at Lampung University, it is necessary to know the fertility of the waters so that this research is carried out. This research aimed to study the fertility of embung waters at Lampung University and examine the abundance and diversity of phytoplankton and their relationship with physico-chemical parameters of waters. Phytoplankton sampling was conduc- ted at 5 stations (ponds A, B, C1, C2 and D). The physico-chemical parameters measured were temperature, pH, depth, brightness, DO, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia and phosphate. The results of the calculation of phytoplankton abundance ranged from 4,060-8,320 cells/L, which indicated that the embankment waters were clas- sified as mesotrophic waters or waters with moderate fertility. Diversity index va- lues ranged from 2.29-2.77, uniformity index was 0.82-0.92 and dominance index was 0.06-0.09. PCA analysis showed that phytoplankton abundance in Lampung University embankment was influenced by nitrate, phosphate, temperature, pH, and DO.
