description: Background: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by  abnormalities in insulin secretion and insulin action. Green betel leaves (Piper betle  L.) and guava leaves (Psidium guajava L.) is one of the herbal plants that is believed  to be able to reduce blood sugar levels and repair kidney damage because it contains  secondary metabolite compounds.  Method: This type of research is experimental with a design in the form of post test  control group design. The samples used were male Wistar rats which were divided  into 6 groups, namely healthy, positive control, negative control, combined extract  doses of 200 mg/kgBW, 400 mg/kgBW, and 600 mg/kgBW. The decrease in blood  sugar levels can be seen from the difference in decrease on day 1 to day 14, while  the histopathological picture of the kidneys is tested using an analysis test. Kruskal  Wallis followed by testing Mann-Whitney.  Results: There was a decrease in blood sugar levels after administering a  combination of ethanol extract of green betel leaves and guava leaves at doses of  200 mg/kg BW and 600 mg/kg BW with respective decreases of 319.7 mg/dL and  39.4 mg/dL. The results of the histopathological test showed that there was an effect  of giving a combination of extracts on the histopathological picture of the kidneys  of Wistar rats induced by alloxan with p-value <0,05.  Conclusion: This research proves that there is an effect of giving a combination of  ethanol extract of green betel leaves and guava leaves on reducing blood sugar  levels and the histopathological picture of the kidneys of Wistar rats induced by  alloxan. Latar Belakang: Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit metabolik yang ditandai  dengan kelainan pada sekresi insulin, kerja insulin. Daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.)  dan daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) menjadi salah satu tanaman herbal yang  dipercaya mampu menurunkan kadar gula darah dan memperbaiki kerusakan ginjal  karena mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder.  Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan rancangan berupa post  test control group design. Sampel yang digunakan adalah tikus jantan galur wistar  yang dibagi kedalam 6 kelompok yaitu sehat, kontrol positif, kontrol negatif,  kombinasi ekstrak dosis 200 mg/kgBB, 400 mg/kgBB, dan 600 mg/kgBB.  Penurunan kadar gula darah dilihat dari selisih penurunan pada hari ke-1 hingga  hari ke-14, sedangkan gambaran histopatologi ginjal diuji menggunakan uji analisis  Kruskal Wallis yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Mann-Whitney.  Hasil: Terdapat penurunan kadar gula darah setelah pemberian kombinasi ekstrak  etanol daun sirih hijau dan daun jambu biji pada dosis 200 mg/kgBB dan 600  mg/kgBB dengan masing-masing penurunan sebesar 319,7 mg/dL dan 39,4 mg/dL.  Hasil uji gambaran histopatologi menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh pemberian  kombinasi ekstrak terhadap gambaran histopatologi ginjal tikus galur wistar yang  diinduksi aloksan dengan p-value <0,05.  Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa adanya pengaruh pemberian  kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun sirih hijau dan daun jambu biji terhadap penurunan  kadar gula darah dan gambaran histopatologi ginjal tikus galur wistar yang  diinduksi aloksan.
