Salah satu bentuk pengembangan baru dalam pengendalian vektor adalah dengan menggunakan larvasida alami yang berasal dari ekstrak rumput laut Sargassum polycystum yang diduga mengandung berbagai senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, tanin, steroid, terpenoid, saponin dan alkaloid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gugus fungsi dan senyawa hasil uji FTIR ekstrak rumput laut Sargassum polycystum, mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak terhadap mortalitas larva, mengetahui nilai efektivitas ekstrak rumput laut Sargassum polycystum dan mengetahui morfologi larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti pada perlakuan kontrol dan perlakuan konsentrasi tertinggi ekstrak etanol rumput laut Sargassum polycystum. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan berupa konsentrasi ekstrak rumput laut Sargassum polycystum (0,5%, 0,75%, 1%, 1,25% dan air sebagai kontrol) dan 5 kali ulangan, setiap perlakuan terdiri 25 ekor larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti Instar III. Hasil uji FTIR ekstrak rumput laut Sargassum polycystum menunjukkan gugus fungsi O-H, N-H, C-H, C?C, C=C, C=O dan C-O yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa flavonoid, alkaloid, steroid, terpenoid, saponin dan tanin. Hasil one way ANOVA menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan mortalitas yang signifikan antar konsentrasi dengan (p-value=0,00). Hasil uji lanjut (LSD) menunjukkan persentase mortalitas larva tertinggi pada konsentrasi 1,25% yaitu sebesar 93,6%. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan nilai LC50 ekstrak rumput laut Sargassum polycystum yaitu sebesar 0,801%, dan kerusakan morfologi tubuh larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti pada perlakuan konsentrasi tertinggi berupa kepala rusak, antenna hilang, leher memanjang, adanya gumpalan ekstrak pada dada larva, saluran pencernaan menyempit, papila anal mengembang dan sifon berbentuk tabung. Kesimpulan ekstrak rumput laut Sargassum polycystum ini efektif sebagai larvasida Aedes aegypti pada konsentrasi 0,801%. This research aims to determine the functional groups and compounds from the FTIR test results of Sargassum polycystum seaweed extract, determine the effect of extract concentration on larval mortality, determine the effectiveness of Sargassum polycystum seaweed extract and determine the morphology of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae in the control treatment and the treatment with the highest concentration of grass ethanol extract. marine Sargassum polycystum. This type of research is experimental using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments in the form of concentrations of Sargassum polycystum seaweed extract (0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25% and water as a control) and 5 replicated, each treatment consisted of 25 Aedes aegypti Instar III mosquito larvae. The FTIR test results of Sargassum polycystum seaweed extract showed that the functional groups O-H, N-H, C-H, C?C, C=C, C=O and C-O contained secondary metabolite compounds in the form of flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, saponins and tannins. The results of one way ANOVA showed that there was a significant difference in mortality between concentrations (p-value=0.00). Further test results (LSD) showed the highest average larval mortality at a concentration of 1.25%, namely 93.6%.
