description: Kearifan lokal repong damar merupakan salah satu budaya yang lahir dan berkembang  pada masyarakat Pahmungan. selain sebagai kearifan lokal, repong damar memiliki peran  yang cukup baik dalam bidang ekologi sebagai pencegah bencana tanah longsor Pekon  Pahmungan, Kecamatan Pesisir Tenggah, Kabupaten Pesisir Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini  adalah mengetahui secara mendalam mengenai peran pelestarian repong damar sebagai  mitigasi bencana tanah longsor berbasis kearifan lokal yang ada di Pekon Pahmungan.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Di mana teknik  pengumpulan data yang dilakukan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan  dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang didapat yaitu : 1) Proses pembukaan lahan repong  damar dibagi menjadi tiga fase yang sudah menjadi aturan adat yang berlaku di Pekon  pahmungan dimana fase darak, kebun dan repong. 2) Ritual ngebabali dilakukan dengan  tujuan untuk menjaga kelestarian repong damar yang sudah menjadi kebiasaan  masyarakat agar terhindar darimara bahaya. 3) Alat untuk menyadap getah damar yang  ada di Pekon pahmungan masyarakat menggunakan alat tradisional dan lobang untuk  menyadapnya ada bentuk ciri khas sendiri bentuknya segi tigaagar menjaga kelestarian  dari pohon damar. 4) Pembibitan pohon damar dilakukaan secara berulang apabila  terdapat pohon damar yang tumbang dengan tujuan agar damar tidak punah. 5) terdapat  sangsi hukum adat yang berlaku bagi orang yang menebang pohon damar sebelum diatas  umur lima belas tahun. ABSTRACT    PRESEVATION OF REPONG DAMAR AS LOCAL  WISDOM-BASED LANDSLIDE DISASTER MITIGATION  IN PAHMUNGAN VILLAG PESISIR TENGAH DISTRICT    WEST PESISIR BARAT DISTRICT    By  ILPA SILPIA    The local wisdom of Repong Damar is one of the cultures that was born and  developed in the Pahmungan community. Apart from being local wisdom, repong  damar has a quite good role in the ecological field as preventing landslides in  Pahmungan Village, Pesisir Tenggah District, Pesisir Barat Regency. Therefore, the  aim of this research is to find out in depth about the role of preserving repong damar  as mitigation for landslide disasters based on local wisdom in Pahmungan village.  The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Where data collectiontechniques  are carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The  research results obtained are: 1) The process of clearing the Repong Damar land is  divided into three phases which have become the customary rules that apply in  Pahmungan Village, namely the Darak, Garden and Repong phases. 2) The  ngebabali ritual is carried out with the aim of preserving the resin repong which has  become a community habit to avoid harm. 3) Tools for tapping resin sap in the  Pahmungan village, the community uses traditional tools and the hole for tapping it  has its own distinctive triangular shape in order to preserve the preservation of the  resin tree. 4) Resin tree nurseries are carried out repeatedly if a resin tree falls with  the aim of ensuring that the resin does not become extinct. 5) there are customary  law sanctions that apply to people who cutdown resin trees before the age of fifteen.
