"Tingginya jumlah produksi tanaman pangan di Kabupaten Lampung Timur\r\nmenghasilkan biomassa yang melimpah. Sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya\r\npengolahan biomassa agar tidak menimbulkan efek pencemaran lingkungan.\r\nMetode yang bisa digunakan salah satunya adalah diolah menjadi silase, biomassa\r\nyang digunakan sebagai silase harus dicacah terlebih dahulu agar mudah\r\ndikonsumsi oleh ternak. Karena itu diperlukan adanya alat yang dapat membantu\r\nproses pencacahan. Mesin pencacah rumput masih menimbulkan persoalan terkait\r\nkurangnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai karakteristik kinerja mesin tersebut,\r\nsehingga hasil kinerja alat pencacah tidak bekerja dengan maksimal. Tujuan\r\npenelitian ini adalah menguji kinerja mesin pencacah rumput type TMB 01 pada\r\nBatang Jagung dan Rumput Gajah dan Mengetahui pengaruh dari pengulangan\r\npengumpanan bahan terhadap kinerja mesin pencacah rumput pada kecepatan\r\n800, 1000, dan 1200 rpm. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni - November\r\n2023, di Pusat Pelatihan Pertanian dan Perdesaan Swadaya (P4S) Tani’s Market\r\nBalerejo, Balerejo, Kecamatan Batanghari, Kabupaten Lampung Timur, Provinsi\r\nLampung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 6 tahap (1) persiapan alat dan bahan. (2)\r\nmengukur waktu pencacahan. (3) mengukur kecepatan mesin. (4) mengukur\r\nkonsumsi bahan bakar setelah 3 kali pengulangan. (5) mengukur berat biomassa\r\nyang telah dicacah. (6) analisis data. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini\r\nadalah kapasitas kerja (ka), waktu kerja (t), konsumsi bahan bakar (fc),\r\nkeberagaman cacahan (kc). Pada penelitian ini bahan biomassa Batang Jagung dan\r\nRumput Gajah diambil dari kebun milik warga. Berdasarkan penelitian dan\r\npengamatan, diambil kesimpulan kecepatan putar (rpm) berpengaruh terhadap\r\nkapasitas kerja, waktu kerja, konsumsi bahan bakar, dan keberagaman cacahan.\r\nKecepatan putaran mesin pencacahan terbaik pada 1200 rpm.\r\nKata Kunci : Biomassa, Mesin pencacah type TMB 01, Kapasitas Kerja.\r\n\r\nThe high production of food crops in East Lampung Regency results in abundant\r\nbiomass. Therefore, efforts are needed to process the biomass to prevent\r\nenvironmental pollution. One of the methods that can be used is to process it into\r\nsilage; the biomass used for silage must be chopped first to make it easily\r\nconsumable by livestock. Hence, there is a need for a tool to assist in the chopping\r\nprocess. Grass chopping machines still pose issues related to the lack of\r\nunderstanding among the community regarding the performance characteristics\r\nof these machines, resulting in suboptimal performance. The objective of this\r\nresearch is to test the performance of the TMB 01 grass chopping machine on\r\nCorn Stalks and Elephant Grass and to determine the effect of repeated feeding on\r\nthe machine's performance at speeds of 800, 1000, and 1200 rpm. This research\r\nwas conducted from June to November 2023 at the Self-Reliant Agricultural\r\nTraining and Rural Training Center (P4S) Tani's Market Balerejo, Balerejo,\r\nBatanghari District, East Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. The research\r\nwas conducted in six stages: (1) preparation of equipment and materials, (2)\r\nmeasuring chopping time, (3) measuring machine speed, (4) measuring fuel\r\nconsumption after three repetitions, (5) measuring the weight of chopped biomass,\r\nand (6) data analysis. The parameters observed in this research are work capacity\r\n(ka), working time (t), fuel consumption (fc), and chopping variability (kc). In this\r\nresearch, Corn Stalks and Elephant Grass biomass were obtained from residents'\r\ngardens. Based on the research and observations, it is concluded that the rotation\r\nspeed (rpm) affects work capacity, working time, fuel consumption, and chopping\r\nvariability.
