N2  - Sungai Way Galih merupakan sungai yang terletak di Desa Way Galih, Kecamatan Tanjung Bintang, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Pada sepanjang aliran Sungai Way Galih terdapat permukiman, area pertanian dan sebagian besarnya merupakan daerah perkebunan. Kegiatan yang ada di sekitar sungai masyarakat di sungai seperti mandi dan mencuci diduga menyumbang limbah domestik ke da-lam perairan, selain itu kegiatan pertanian dan perkebunan secara tidak langsung menyebabkan penurunan kualitas air serta menganggu organisme di perairan. Pe-nelitian ini bertujuan untuk Menganalisis komposisi struktur komunitas fitoplank-ton, menganalisis tingkat pencemaran berdasarkan Indeks Saprobik dan mengana-lisis tingkat pencemaran berdasarkan Indeks Nygaard. Penelitian ini dilakukan pa-da bulan Juni-Juli tahun 2024 dengan menggunakan Indeks Struktur Komunitas, Indeks Nygaard dan Indeks Saprobik. Hasil dari penelitian komposisi fitoplankton Sungai Way Galih terdiri dari 5 kelas yaitu Chloropyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Cynophyceae, Dinophyceae dan Euglenaphycea, dengan genus tertinggi yaitu ge-nus Calothrix dari kelas Cynophyceae. Hasil analisis Indeks Saprobitas di Sungai Way Galih pada stasiun 1 tercemar cukup tinggi, pada stasiun 2 tercemar sedang sampai cukup tinggi dan pada stasiun 3 tercemar cukup tinggi sampai tercemar sangat tinggi. Hasil analisis Indeks Nygaard pada ketiga stasiun termasuk dalam kategori eutrofik.

Way Galih River is located in Way Galih Village, Tanjung Bintang Dis-trict, South Lampung Regency. Along the Way Galih River there are settlement, agriculture and most of them are plantation areas. Activities that occur around the river, such as bathing and washing, are estimated to be equivalent to domestic waste into the water, in addition to agricultural and plantation activities indirectly causing a decrease in water quality and disturbing organisms in the water. This re-search aims has to analyze the composition of the phytoplankton community stru-cture, analyze pollution levels based on the Saprobic Index and analyze pollution leels based on the Nygaard Index. This research was conducted in June-July 2024 using the Community Structure Index, Nygaard Index and Saprobic Index. The re-sults of research on the phytoplankton composition of the Way Galih River con-sist of 5 classes, namely Chloropyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Cynophyceae, Dinophyceae and Euglenaphycea, with the highest genus being Calothrix from the Cynophyceae class. The results of the analysis of the Saprobity Index in the Way Galih River at station 1 are quite highly polluted, at station 2 it is moderately to quite highly polluted and at station 3 it is quite highly polluted to very highly poll-uted. The results of the Nygaard Index analysis at the third station are included in the eutrophic category.
