        abstract = {Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan video
pembelajaran dalam model generative learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi
matematis siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 162 siswa kelas VIII SMP
Negeri 3 Tanjung Bintang yang terdistribusi ke dalam enam kelas yaitu VIII A
hingga VIII F. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII B dengan jumlah
30 siswa dan kelas VIII C dengan jumlah 25 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik
purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest and posttest
control group design. Berdasarkan hasil uji Mann-Whitney U, diperoleh kesimpulan
bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan
video pembelajaran dalam model generative learning lebih tinggi daripada
peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti model
generative learning tanpa video pembelajaran. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini
adalah penggunaan video pembelajaran dalam model generative learning
berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII di SMP
Negeri 3 Tanjung Bintang.

This study aims to determine the effect of using learning videos in the generative
learning model on students' mathematical communication skills. The population in
this study were 162 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Bintang who were
distributed into six classes, namely VIII A to VIII F. The samples in this study were
students of class VIII B with a total of 30 students and class VIII C with a total of
25 students selected by purposive sampling technique. The research design used

was pretest and posttest control group design. Based on the results of the Mann-
Whitney U test, it was concluded that the improvement in mathematical

communication skills of students who used learning videos in the generative
learning model was higher than the improvement in mathematical communication
skills of students who followed the generative learning model without learning
videos. The conclusion of this study is that the use of learning video in the
generative learning model affects the mathematical communication skills of grade
VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Bintang.
