Hasil utama dari gasifikasi dapat menghasilkan syngas, syngas ini dapat digunakan dalam menghasilkan listrik. Downdraft gasifier digunakan karena tipe gasifier ini menghasilkan tar yang lebih sedikit jika dibandingkan dengan tipe gasifier lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kenaikan suhu dan ketahanan dalam penggunaan kedua tipe downdraft gasifier (Gasifier Tipe A dan Gasifier Tipe B) dalam proses gasifikasi dan mengetahui komposisi hasil gasifikasi yaitu syngas lalu dibandingkan. Data yang diambil berupa data kenaikan suhu (°C) selama 8 jam dan komposisi senyawa syngas dengan dua bahan baku yang berbeda (pelet kayu karet dan cangkang inti kelapa sawit) yang dianalisis menggunakan GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry). Ketiga hasil didapatkan bahwa memiliki ketahanan selama 8 jam dengan suhu maksimum yang berbeda-beda, untuk Gasifier Tipe A feedstock pelet kayu karet suhu tertinggi mencapai 1165°C, Gasifier Tipe B feedstock pelet kayu karet suhu tertinggi mencapai 641,2°C, Gasifier Tipe B cangkang inti kelapa sawit suhu mencapai 596,5°C. Selain itu komposisi senyawa tertinggi Gasifier Tipe A feedstock pelet kayu karet adalah butanedioic acid, 2- cyano-2,3-dimethyl-, diethyl ester (C11H17NO4). Pada Gasifier Tipe B menggunakan feedstock pelet kayu karet dan cangkang inti kelapa sawit, komposisi senyawa tertinggi adalah Benzeneethanamine, 3-fluoro-ß,5-dihydroxy-N-methyl- (C9H12FNO2). The main result of gasification can produce syngas, this syngas can be used to generate electricity. Downdraft gasifiers are used because this type of gasifier produces less tar when compared to other types of gasifiers. This study aims to determine the temperature increase and resistance in the use of both types of downdraft gasifiers (Type A Gasifier and Type B Gasifier) in the gasification process and to determine the composition of the gasification results, known as syngas, and then compare them. The data taken were in the form of temperature increase data (°C) for 8 hours and the composition of syngas compounds with two different raw materials (rubber wood pellets and palm kernel shells) which were analyzed using GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry).
