A quantitative approach was used to examine students' achievement through a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The research was conducted in the second semester of seventh grade in the academic year of 2023/2024. There were 30 students participating as the sample of the research. Writing tests in the form of essays were given to collect the data. The results showed that there was a statistical improvement with a significant level of 0.05 between the pre-test and the post-test after the students were taught through the guiding questions technique. This suggests that the guiding questions technique facilitates students to improve their descriptive writing achievement, with the organization being the aspect of writing that has the highest improvement.
