A method that had already been implemented naturally required evaluation as a basis for making improvements. The line preparation area was considered a sensitive area that greatly needed an evaluation of the method already in use. This research aimed to evaluate the implementation of 5S in the line preparation area and provide recommendations for sustainable improvements. The method used in this study involved direct observation using a checksheet and analytical methods through SWOT analysis. Data were obtained from direct observations as well as the distribution of questionnaires to 100 respondents, including coordinators and data collectors. The results showed that there were still several findings indicating non-conformities in the implementation of 5S in the line preparation area. The evaluation obtained from the study, which was conducted through direct observation over 20 working days, showed the following final results: Seiri (Sort) 93%, Seiton (Set in order) 64%, Seiso (Shine) 73%, Seiketsu (Standardize) 63%, Shitsuke (Sustain) 73%, and an overall score of 73%. Penerapan 5R sangat penting dijalankan di seluruh area yang ada di departemen cannery, namun area line preparation merupakan area yang sangat diperhatikan akan penerapan 5R nya. Sebuah metode yang sudah diterapkan tentunya membutuhkan evaluasi sebagai bahan untuk melakukan perbaikan. Area line preparation termasuk area sensitif yang sangat membutuhkan adanya evaluasi metode yang sudah dijalankan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan 5R di area line preparation serta memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan 5R yang berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengamatan secara langsung menggunakan checksheet serta metode analisis menggunakan analisis SWOT. Data diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan secara langsung serta pembagian kuesioner kepada 100 responden yang meliputi koordinator dan pendata. Hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa masih terdapat beberapa penemuan dari ketidaksesuaian penerapan 5R di area line preparation. Evaluasi yang didapatkan dari penelitian yang sudah dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan secara langsung selama 20 hari kerja mendapatkan hasil akhir ringkas 93%, rapi 64%, resik 73%, rawat 63%, rajin 73%, dan keseluruhan 73%. Ringkas termasuk kategori memuaskan, sedangkan rapi, resik, rawat dan rajin termasuk kategori perlu dilakukan perbaikan.
